kjkenney
Just found out about this, even though it was apparently announced in December, and am beyond pumped. Both Criteria albums are two of my favorite of all time and Stephen Pedersen is a gd treasure. https://15passenger.bandcamp.com/album/years "Criteria just announced their first new album in nearly a decade and a half, aptly titled Years. The new album will be released on January 17, 2020 via 15 Passenger, a label owned and operated by singer, Stephen Pedersen's old bandmates in Cursive. Yesterday they premiered explosive anthemic lead single "Agitate Resuscitate" as well as a comical short film featuring a dual over the album's release between singer Stephen Pedersen and Tim Kasher of Cursive via Brooklyn Vegan. The song's syncopated post-hardcore groove and shout along lyrics set the perfect tone for the rest of the record melding their hallmark anthemic sound with new hints of prog, post-punk and just a touch of metal." kas1985
This album is my first exposure to Criteria. After hearing this album, I’ll go back and listen to the rest of the catalog. The blue vinyl pressing is impressive looking as well. Haven’t had a chance to spin it yet.

This is a great entry point, you will not be disappointed with their other stuff. En Garde is great, but When We Break is damn near perfect, imo. Check out The White Octave albums too. It's not as polished as Criteria but still super rad.

'Appeals for Insertion' gives me all the feels. Stephen Pedersen was born to rock, truly. Shitty Rambo
