drewberinger
figured we get a walmart exclusive with all the other exclusives they've put out over the past year
jhulud
Still doesn't make that cover less awful though.

jhulud
I wish the presales were next week. Would make it easier to consider and made a decision.
faaip de oiad
Wal-Mart exclusives have also been euro variants in the past of some other releases. So I imagine it's only a matter of time before Wal-Mart puts theirs up.
jhulud
Anyone going to try for tix? I’m feeling wanting to try for Chicago in ‘24 as it’ll be a few days before a pretty big birthday.

jhulud
I ended up passing on getting tix. As much as it pains me, I have to be more financially responsible next year.
jhulud
Well. Looks like no Vinyl Club for ‘23. “A lot of you have been asking, “What’s up with the next Vinyl Club subscription year?!” We know we’ve been a little quiet lately, and now you know why… New song. New album. New tour… Secret no more! (That’s the good news.) Here comes the not-so-good news. Since you’re all collectors, you know that current vinyl demand is exceeding production capabilities. Across the music world, all artists are dealing with delays. So that we can focus on bringing you 72 Seasons in April, we’re not going to offer a renewal for the next Vinyl Club subscription at this time. We do not yet have a target date for the next subscription year. Now on to your current subscription… you’ve been patiently waiting and unfortunately the wait has been extended. We’ve been informed that the fourth release will not ship until sometime in February. We’re with you in this disappointment. With all that said, that means those of you with annual subscriptions will not see them until early 2023.”
Vega
Kinda prepared for this to become their worst album. Both singles didn't do that much for me. Sounds kinda like Hardwired outtakes, both in terms of the songwriting and the sterile production. faaip de oiad

porkdad
I'm not trying to be a skeptic, but does buying an existing (and well-respected) plant so you put your records first in line really help absolve pressing the pressing bottleneck? If they aren't investing in this plant to expand the overall production them this is just kicking the can along and getting good press for Metallica. roadmonkey
I see them doing this to continue to press thier own stuff as well as press stuff from bands/artists they want to promote more. For example, if Ghost's new record is getting delayed cause T-Swift has her's coming out sooner, the boys can be like, ayyyye Tobias, we got you boo
Vega
Crazy that them owning a pressing plant in Germany doesn't seem to take care of the demand if they just bought a new one. Kinda can't believe that somehow, I mean how many records are they selling??
faaip de oiad
They actually bought a majority stake of the company. Yes, that Metallica

Vega
Mine was "shipped" yesterday, too. Although the tracking number still says that it's preparing for being picked up. Maybe they'll just ship these next week like they wrote on the item page. The packaging looks fantastic though. The gatefold has a 72-shaped die cut in the inside, the photos of the band look great as well.
