glass realms
Does anybody know if pre-orders apply to this? This Will Destroy You have a new album coming out on June 9. If I can pre-order the album now so they'll get 100% of the sale, I'll do that. Otherwise, I'll wait until BC waive revenue shares in July. dawhizz
I'm going to take this opportunity once again to share recent purchases that are available on Bandcamp that I think others might dig (all with vinyl options) and would love to hear others people's suggestions as well: VASA - Heroics (post-rock) - https://vasa.bandcamp.com/album/heroics Bruce Peninsula - No Earthly Sound (like if Arcade Fire wrote folk/gospel music) - https://brucepeninsula.bandcamp.com/album/no-earthly-sound So Soon, the Truth - Were You Ever Really There? (DGD/Circa Survive-esque emo) - https://sosoonthetruth.bandcamp.com/album/were-you-ever-really-there
mrewest
Forgot to post everything I bought first time around so my list is below. Probably won’t go as crazy this time but still gonna look for some good stuff. Will dig through some of the lists you guys posted. But here’s what I snagged last time... Unconditional Arms (someone else mentioned them & I back hard. they are posting a previously released 2-song EP, which was removed from streaming services about a year ago for some reasons, but also adding an unreleased song. great post-rock jams.) Coffin Salesman (this was a band I only first discovered that day. but it’s like Murder By Death with irish-punk energy. the singer is absolutely an acquired taste, of which I’m honestly still unsure of lol, but instrumentally it 100% rips. their LP was only $10 that day which is the main reason I snagged.) Ovlov (incredibly catchy 90s alt/punk shoegaze) Moira (moody, chill, almost fusion-esque post-rock with killer vocals) Minor Movements (i already owned Bloom but I bought the 2 new songs released this year. more great post-rock. a mix of ambient/post-metalish/post-rock.) Wide Waters (killer ambient post-rock. one of my new goto nap albums) Carved Into the Sun (raw, noodly, riff-heavy post-metal) Also my number one recommendation is Lowercase Roses. This is my buddy Matt’s solo project & his newest, Titanic Planet is honest to God one of my favs of the year so far. He plays everything himself & it’s like a mix of indie/alternative/synth pop. I really think he’s putting out some of the more unique music out there right now. Edited April 29, 2020 by mrewest

dawhizz
Looks like a lot of bands are putting up special songs/EPs/releases for the Bandcamp fee waiver day tomorrow. I can't pretend to keep track of them all, but I think Mudhoney is putting up a live album from 2005 for that day only, Braid is putting up B-sides & demos from No Coast, and Prince Daddy & the Hyena are putting up a glow in the dark repress of their first album. Feel free to post if you hear of anything that would be of interest.

unknown pleasures
I’m honestly buying more on some of these Bandcamp revenue holidays than I do on a typical Record Store Day and I’m getting better stuff and the band/label is making more money so I’m finding them pretty cool. mrewest
