JohnMatrix
This is my new favorite RTJ release. The last song is incredible
thepunkguy
best Zack verse yet. (on a RTJ release, that is.) bubb4
zdkaiser
Mp3s from the RTJ website sound super compressed, especially track 3. Album is gonna take a while to digest.

bubb4
love RTJ. This album starts at track 4 for me though. Didn't care for the singles much. I think it really kicks off at Holy Calamafuck and peaks at Walking In The Snow. Derek™
danmpie7
Personally I think this album fires on all cylinders. Pulling the Pin is definitely top songs for me. I've listened through a few times now and I find this to be consistent. There isn't really a track that I skip...for now.
JohnMatrix
Yeah Ive listened to it 7 or 8 times now and I havent skipped a song yet. None of them overstay their welcome which I thought was a problem on the last one
Shelby
It's also 12 minutes shorter so that makes sense.

No need for those beats to drag out an extra 1-2 minutes for no reason.

I don't think any of the songs are any different structurally there are just 11 instead of
One Hundred Fifty-Two
I’ll use don’t get captured as an example. The last verse ends at 2:20 but the song is 3:12 that whole time I’m waiting for the next song to kick in.

Derek™
This album is lean and mean, I’ll give it that much. While I’m still not in love with the first few tracks I do feel like it’s already stronger and more consistent than RTJ3, at least. The hook of Ooh LA LA is absurd though. One of the album’s most memorable tracks but for all the wrong reasons, in my opinion. bubb4

In classic track Dwyck) and rtj's version feat premier .. I think it's just supposed to be a fun throwback track..

As a big fan of Gang Starr / DJ Premier's production history, I think the sample turned into a hook for this song is fun.
Derek™
I mean yeah, sure, that’s fine. But as someone without background knowledge of the sample’s origin, I’m just calling it like I hear it.

If you fuck with RTJ you should definitely fuck with Gang Starr. Here’s a little starter list for ya, beyond that: Eric B & Rakim, Boogie Down Productions, Nas, Big L, Mobb Deep, Company Flow, Cannibal Ox, EPMD, Big Daddy Kane, Black Star, MF Doom/Madvillain/Viktor Vaughn, Freddie Gibbs, Denzel Curry, Digable Planets, Dead Prez. Forgive if you’re already familiar with any of these artists. Derek™
