TheDuke 59
Heavenly Records are releasing 10 new 'eco friendly' pressings of King Gizzard albums from the 2014-2017 era. 9 albums + Head On/Pill 12", as part of UK Love Record Store Day - 20th June. "Nine albums and a single from 2014-2017 will be pressed on eco-wax - the material from leftover pallets. The printed parts of the products will be entirely biodegradable, as the sleeves will be made from recycled board and printed using plant based inks. The plastic wrap usually used to protect the sleeves will be replaced with a recycled brown paper bag." https://www.thelineofbestfit.com/news/latest-news/heavenly-releasing-eco-friendly-king-gizzard-and-the-lizard-wizard-vinyl Facebook posting: Interesting concept....but can't help but think they're milking this one somewhat? What do you think? I might bag the Head on/pill & Sketches myself..but the rest, probably not. No idea how limited these are though, can't find the info on that. Yeah they only look to have the numbers up for some, but all the LPs are the same amount
TheDuke 59
Well that was a wash out...did anybody get that Head On/Pill 12"?! I must have tried about 30 webstores, all sold out in minutes. Edited June 20, 2020 by TheDuke

TheDuke 59
Nope, they've sold out as well, despite saying there's 2 copies available Craig..i tried!
zdkaiser 261
Nothing says eco friendly better than pressing 15,000 copies of your entire catalog that's all already available and in print. Plarocks, Jim Steele and TheDuke

Wow, did they press another 3,000 copies of each album?
GazHilarant 205
I am also looking for head on pill, tried my go to Juno and it was gone in seconds. If anyone can help a fella out I would be very grateful

Edit: I think all the albums were 1000 copies each, & the 12" is 500 copies, so 9500 total. But i agree, the 9 albums aren't worth it..only for that previously out of print Head On/Pill single. Most of the record stores still have the albums available, but all sold out of that 12" though..so says it all really. Plenty of rippers on discogs and Ebay, now chancing their arm at selling their copies for insane prices. No thanks..i've got me a copy of the 2014 RSD original...i'll stick with that! They're just trying to brand mixed vinyl as something good for the environment when it's actually just the cheapest method to press records. It's pretty nasty tbh they need to examine their morals again. TheDuke

Even if one buys from Juno..you'd still be paying £20 + postage..& others upto £25 +P&P; for something made out of cheaper materials? Hmmm...... I think Heavenly were perhaps throwing one more roll of the dice with what they are licensed to repress, since Flightless cut them out after going global in 2018! Same goes for Castleface, who only have the licence to continuely put out repress after repress of Quarters & Mind Fuzz! Edited June 21, 2020 by TheDuke

For perspective it's cheaper than pressing regular black vinyl
Plarocks 320
I only ordered one of these, Paper Mâché Dream Balloon, as there was only one song from them I heard on my volunteer community radio station that I really liked. (So far...they have a lot of stuff) I also have in an order for the black version of the same album at my favorite UK record store, because I expect the “recycled vinyl” to have lower sound quality. It ALWAYS has in the past. Curious to what it will look like though. 😄 Edited June 21, 2020 by Plarocks
