Cannot get rid of the noise when playing records

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've had my Pro-Ject Debut III with the Ortofon OM 5E MM cartridge for a while. I have it running through the Pro-Ject Phono Box preamp. Before every playing, I use the Ortofon cartridge brush to clean the stylus, and I use a brush to clean the record/remove the statics before playing. However, I still get a lot of noise when playing. I have already readjusted the arm so it's balanced. The amp is grounded with an extra grounding cable that comes from the turntable. Any ideas on how to get rid of the noise?
