I stopped listening to this band after messengers but I’d love to get those first two albums.

the album closer on thrill seeker is so damn good

You are missing out! They have still put out some great albums. Also yes the album closer is absolutely fucking AMAZING!

they better not - instant pass if so.
also would be extremely rude to Josh who literally helped create the band...

I agree with this, I have no interest in a re-record and I also think its disrespectful to the original vocalist on the album.

I wouldn't say it's rude or disrespectful unless they replace the existing record and remove it from streaming and such. Keep in mind Solid State probably sold the rights for this record and pressing it could be too expensive to make it worth getting the rights and they rerecorded in order to press it again out of affordability. Also maybe they got Josh's blessing?

licensing or not, it's a very shit thing to do to a founding member of your band.  regardless of keeping the original on platforms etc.

Jake had absolutely no involvement in writing that album and likewise should not be part of any recording or remaster pertaining to it.

what would the credits say? originally written and recorded by Josh but then rerecorded by Jake? dumb

What if they only re-recorded the instrumentals, but left the original vocals?   Would it ruin the album or improve upon the original?  🤔  (Imagining the instrumentals from Messengers vs. Messengers Remixed)

Thoughts?

I hated the remixed version of messengers.

When the T&N/SS catalog was sold, I believe, they kept the rights to ABR and Demon Hunter. I thought I read that somewhere.

As far as it being a re-recording, I was just going off fan comments I've seen. So take it with a grain of salt.

It has been 15 years, they could be doing something for it's anniversary. And this was originally pressed for RSD several years ago. Maybe they've seen a demand and this will be a more widespread release?

I listened to constellations a few times but it never really stuck with me aside from “the escape artist” which to me was a highlight. After that album released I just completely checked out.

got to see “the seventh trumpet” live though back in 2007 or so, that was cool
