gileadbot
Folks! First off, thank you to everyone who has pre-ordered one of these three records, I appreciate your support of the label & of these bands. I also appreciate your patience in waiting for these. I am e-mailing you today just to keep an open line of communication b/t Gilead and the buyers of these recent vinyl releases. As you noticed when you purchased any of these three releases, they are all pre-orders. And as I'm sure you know by now as a vinyl collector, vinyl manufacturing is a tumultuous task, at its best. As I've explained in the past, the color vinyl crisis in the US has really put the pressing plants and labels in a bind as far as getting records manufactured. Over the past month color vinyl has began trickling back in and record manufacturing process has picked back up on the enormous backlog of jobs at the pressing plant waiting for color vinyl. Of course, the three Gilead releases we are discussing are part of that enormous backlog. Over the past three month or so I've continually been told the records would be ready to ship soon, next week, the week after that. I just got off the phone with the pressing plant, Bill Smith Custom Records requesting an update (they've done every vinyl release I've done this year except the HWC 7".) Today I was told this: Rocky Votolato "A Brief History" 10" is finishing up today Mouth of the Architect/Kenoma LP is going on the press today after some noisy first presses late last week on a different pres. Thou "Retaliation" 12" Should be on the press by the end of the week. So that's where we're at. None of them are going to ship until they're all done. Because, quite frankly, I can't afford to ship them all separately when they're all going to be finished up within a week of each other and I have the option for them to ship together. This is going to end up saving me a large amount of money. And as (some of you are) a fellow American citizen, I trust you can appreciate the fact that I'd rather save 500-700 dollars than flush it down the toilet right now in the state of the American economy. Even if you're one of my many treasured foreign customers I have no doubt you can appreciate me trying to save money and keep my prices as low as possible. I surprise myself that I'm still spending money running the label sometimes considering how poor this country is doing financially, despite how much I love doing this. But I digress... The bottom line is as follows: The records are being cranked out as quickly as they can. I do NOT blame the pressing plant, or anyone else for that matter, for this issue. Vinyl is a pain in the ass... magnificent, but a pain. There are unforeseen delays, expensive ones, and that's the life of running a vinyl focused label that manufactures its releases in the USA. But The records will be here soon, and I will ship them in the order in which orders were received as fast as I possibly can. I will have 3-4 people helping me with assembly and shipping when the records arrive. I didn't even have that many folks helping me when Gilead had to assemble 3000 mwy LPs and immediately ship almost 900 packages within 2 weeks. So again, I thank you all for your patience & support. The time is close... just a bit longer. Talk to you soon! -Adam/gilead [email protected]

gileadbot
When the records get here I'll update this thread with photos from the record-stuffing party we're having for all 2500 records that will show up. Hoping to get it all done in a single day, then ship all pre-orders the next day. CUAD LP: Have the OK from 3/4 of the band and both RevHQ and Status, so we're just waiting for the last member of the band to respond. Once we have his OK we will begin artwork!
