sacredheart
I stopped watching the game when it was7-2 and DeGrom was out, figured we could hold onto that. Stop watching tv for the night, switch back to the game and its 16-7. 11 home runs total tonight, tying the record.

catalinacaper
Mets are an interesting enigma. Just like the Nationals last year (and this year for that matter), a lot of guys that aren't world beaters but have the potential to produce at any moment. Putting it all together at one time. 3arl
Astros are the first AL team since 1974 to allow 2 or less runs in 9 straight games.

Guest
I was at the bar watching the mets/phils game tonight and got super annoyed when.. Just at the game for super interesting.. they changed the channel. Except it was to verlander carrying a no-no into the 9th.. Just to have a blooper to left literally hit the chalk. How many times has this happened to him?

Guest
yeah, second to be broken up in the 9th, but 7th in 5 years that he's taken into the 7th inning.
stl_ben
Well, the plus side right now is, even if the Cardinals lose the rest of the games this year, we will have a winning season over all!
catalinacaper
Well, the plus side right now is, even if the Cardinals lose the rest of the games this year, we will have a winning season over all! Guest
sox/mets game was a lot of fun today. great pitching early on (sox had like 11 groundouts through the 6th), ortiz's 494th, and then several late inning lead changes. happy the mets got the win.. i was worried what a sweep would do to their momentum. but it's awesome seeing how much hype they're getting right now. playoffs could be a lot of fun around here if both the mets and the yankees are contending. wish i had gotten to the game sooner, because i didn't have much of a chance to explore the stadium.. really do love citi field so far though. catalinacaper
Has Ortiz said anything about playing another season? I feel like I've read that he wants to keep playing (why wouldn't he, tbh). He's met his minimum PA to exercise his 2016 option of $11 mill.

catalinacaper
Three of the five best records in baseball are in one division....just one more reason it sucks to be a cubs fan. It's really unfortunate for the NL Central that 2 of the 3 will be eliminated by the NLDS because of the bracketing. But awesome for impartial fans like me!
