Buying my first record player

Recommended Posts

I am looking for advice. I am planning to buy a record player for around $100 and right now I'm looking at these two:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N3S8D31/?coliid=I9QM0MSLPDZDG&colid=18SBEKKNH52OT&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it_im

I plan to listen to rap and rock and eventually plan to buy speakers if I get the audio technica player. Which would you guys recommend. In case it is relevant I will also preface that this is my first record player. Also, feel free to recommend completely different record players altogether.

anything with adjustable counterweight and anti - skate is really the 2 biggest things to look for (then you will need a tracking force gauge)... i like the projects or rega's but there are others out there that a great too.. also don't get any sort of player with built-in speakers ...

Target’s Heyday player is like a Crosley with an adjustable tonearm and it’s received decent reviews (for what it is) . And it’s $99.99.

If my budget was a strict $100, I would go for the table with the adjustable tonearm over the brand value of Audio Technica with the fixed plastic arm.
