cbartoli Posted January 19, 2021 Share Posted January 19, 2021 I got an lp for Christmas, Joni Mitchell Live at Canterbury House 1967... It has played fine for the last few weeks, then all of a sudden last night, the 3rd album sounds as if it were scratched to hell. Especially on the 1st couple songs on the 2nd side. The vinyl is clean as it is less than a month old. No visible scratches or scuffs. I gave it a cleaning and it sounds just as bad if not worse. I took it over to my buddy's house this afternoon to see how it sounded on his TT... Exactly the same. Has anyone experienced this happening before? Any idea why all of a sudden the change in quality? I take very good care of my vinyl collection. Any help or answers would be appreciated... cbartoli Posted January 19, 2021 Author Share Posted January 19, 2021 Yes. I clean it regularly. I use a Magic Eraser... The stylus is an Audio Technica ATN95E. I've had it for about 4 years now.
