sheby1911
Hi all! I just got my hands on the new The Last od Us Part II vinly and there is a annoying noise on the recording. I know my gear is cheap (I want to buy a new one soon :P) but on my other recordings there is much less or not at all noise (I don't mean the cracks). Now the question is: Is the recording broken or should I clean it or something or it's perfectly normal? Thanks for help! swallowtales
This kinda just sounds like surface noise to me, might just be not a great pressing. Interested to hear other thoughts though.
hoytis
Sorry, couldn't open the link. But to clarify, you hear the same kind of noise but just not as much on other records? Is it a distortion of treble sounds, like high instrumental notes, cymbals, etc.? It could be a worn out stylus if you've never replaced it. Which could also make the issue become more pronounced on a brand new record. With that said, if the noise is really not there on other records, it could just be a bad pressing. I actually just returned a boxset because of distortion issues. I knew it was the vinyl because other records sounded just fine, but this one distorted at certain points. Made a return and got a new copy, everything is fine.
