raye
Modest setup. Like the cart. Want to add a little more fidelity, separation, and dynamics. Also want to keep the synergy, as I'll be upgrading to a completely different setup after a house move this fall (which may be all vintage, and a significant upgrade). Until then, this humble little entry level outfit is what I'm working with. Allen H originally recommended the Musical Fidelity V90-LPS a number of years back, which was excellent and a significant upgrade over the phono stage I had originally. However, now I'm looking for a significant upgrade in all of the above areas, but one that doesn't upset the synergy of the set up. Here's what I'm using: Project Debut Carbon Esprit SB Ortofon 2M Blue Musical Fidelity V90-LPS Cambridge 651A Wharfedale Dentons ONLY interested in phono stage recommendations (before someone recommends carts, styli, room treatments, hearing tests, etc etc). Based on the above, what phono would you recommend, and why? Have at it.
Gumbo72203
I've got the MoFi Ultraphono and it seems to do very well. Black background, and really great transients with TONS of clarity in the vocal range. Very impressed. i'm running a Rega P6 with a Hana EL cart and KEF 550's with a Yamaha power amp.
