Old Stylus Replacement?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I haven't owned a turntable for 15yrs, but I've recently inherited a JVC JL-A20 setup with an Empire 2000 E/1 cartridge/stylus that has an unknown history. As far as I can tell it sounds and plays well at 1g on the counterweight and it's not ripping the vinyl. I have inspect the stylus under a microscope, but I'm not sure what to make of it so I'm posting the images below, hopefully someone with more experience can offer their opinion on the condition of the current stylus, replacement, or whole cartridge replacement to something more modern.

Thanks!
