My Mondo stuff. I usually don't take pics of my records but had these out and snapped it. No Oblivion or Raid Redemption because I don't care for either that much. I'm no completist.

I got most of these direct and some through some awesome trading. All are black except The Beyond (clear blue/teal/whatever), Poltergeist (glow) and the Drive pic disc.

Still missing, at least, 50 records by them. And they get more rare and expensive everyday

I really don't want to sound like a douche so please don't grill me but... What's the point of getting 5 copies of the same record? What do you do with them? and what do you do once you've completed it?

I guess I just want to better understand the collection side of records not just buying and listening to records.

Exactly, it's a collection. People like to complete them with all the colors.

That's like asking a coin collector why he/she would want more than one nickel, quarter, dime, etc...

I'm not big on collecting variants. I do think collections look cool though and it's neat to see some of the rarer ones from time to time.

I think first and foremost it has to do with supporting a band or label that releases music you enjoy. Secondly the thrill of the chase to get them all and have an entire collection from your favorite band.

Also some people have multiple copies of albums due to either mastering, sound, sleeve differences, etc... on various pressings.

I'd say a lot of people do this for fun...but I'd say it's probably some of the most stressful fun somebody can have haha.
