rogoe
It seems I totally missed the boat on this one. Its not on sale anymore and I can't find it on ebay. If anyone here has it or knows how to find it I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

altarsofradness
i used to not like this band because they so obviously jocked the jesus lizard, who might be the most amazing band ever formed. and then i saw one of their shirts somewhere, and it was a spoof of that classic jesus lizard design of mickey mouse sitting on top of a bomb and i decided they were ok if they could poke fun at themselves. well, that and every band should sound more like the jesus lizard. oakland
I have that shirt. And all this nonsense about how they ripped on the JL is crazy. Sure they have that ambling bass thing going, but the songs are much less complex. NO weird time signatures, etc. They are a good band and a band unto themselves. Influenced by? I'll bite. Jocked ? I think not.

I had never heard of them before but they have an awesome selection of shirts in fat-dude sizes (something which is very hard to come by). Placing an order now! daniele
Young Widows are great but i suggest you to hear Brian Banger with one the Patterson bros singing and playing guitar in: they are fucking great and have one album (with vinyl press available soon) out on Hawthorne Street records. The same label just announced on their website about the vinyl presses of Pelican's March Into The Sea and (my personal favourites) The LIfe And Times masterpiece Subhurban Hymns in coming this fall!! I think not. well, that whole ambling bass line thing is kind of what the jesus lizard were known for, and young widows rely pretty hard on that. and like with the jesus lizard, the guitar parts seem to take a back seat to the rhythm section. pretty much the entire idea of what the jesus lizard were as a band is represented in young widows. that being said, i can appreciate them more now that i know they wear their influences on their sleeve and arent trying to slip one by us. and i like 'em a whole lot more than breather resist.
