lechevre
So...since we're all vinyl collectors here, what's your opinion? It seems (to me at least) that this is a pop culture reference to vinyl most people get. Is he a hero to you? Do people ask you if you're like him, etc... just curious about thoughts on this... flood
not really a hero, as much as a sad realization
robotnerd
nobody asks if i'm like him. but i am forever envious of his collection and hope to someday organize my records autobiographically.
xfedaykinx
i have actually never seen high fidelity. does that make me less of a collector?
ronniethebear
I'm somewhere in between Rob and Barry. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.
Guest scriptedrain
i have actually never seen high fidelity. does that make me less of a collector? See it now. Seriously. I know people recommend stuff to you left and right, but if you don't have this movie watched by the end of this week, I will hunt you down. It's that good. lechevre
Well it's not that you're less of a collector, it's just a good view of a vinyl collector. Plus it's a guy who's had his heart broken and hopeful. I'm sure just about any guy can relate to that aspect. I too am a Huge John Cusack Fan. I would love to be able to hang out with him for even an hour!
Guest scriptedrain
I've always thought of High Fidelity as a man version of a chick-flick. Don't confuse that with a man-friendly chick flick though. - Jeff
robotnerd
strangely, one time i was in one of those moods like "fuck, i'm so depressed, i'm just gonna do shit that i know is gonna make me feel more depressed", so i watched high fidelity, and surprisingly it really made me feel better, i'm not sure why, might've been the exorbitant amount of vinyl porn in it. tommytumult
not really a hero, as much as a sad realization Exactly. I do give him props, though, for organizing autobiographically. From time to time, I'll consider trying it, but there's no way I could do it. it would be a huge headache to accomplish and It would mean that I wouldn't be able to find anything very easily. But yeah, great movie. I watch it every year on Valentine's day, along with a bunch of other Cusack flicks, while drinking heavily.

benchwarmer
"What came first, the music or the misery?" I love that line, then fall out boy had to go and ruin it and title one of their songs after it.
