lokithelion
I'm going to start writing up band demos on the site Casey, Juan, and I are working on. Until we get the kind of readership that allows me to get unsolicited band demos in the mail (and probably will make me want to kill myself once it takes off due to all the demos we might get) I'm wondering who here has heard any recently that really kicked their socks in. Literally any kind of genre, I just want to find people I've never heard of to give a little shine to. Gimmie names and download links if you've got them. zac
http://openwaterrecords.limitedpressing.com There are two links there to download the demos of two bands I am doing a split cassette for. Both are really awesome. One of the bands has members from Tigers Jaw, Hightide Hotel and Snowing.

If so email the details at john (at) the1stfive.com. I'll happily post news and a link to your store.

I'll make sure and email him sometime later when it's out because I don't have an exact date yet but it's on it's way.

rtw88
The most recent is from the split 7", and it's what I like best too. It's not really a demo though so I don't know if that counts. I really like the 2nd demo/Curse Words too, so if you want to keep it purely to demos, you could just go with that. The 7" is also obviously getting a physical release, so I would feel kind of like a cheapskate if you reviewed that without me actually sending a copy, which we don't have in hand yet. xjustinxschwierx
Not super new, but at Fest my friend Jon gave me his new bands demo. Band is called Stop Breathing, Jon sang for the Missing 23rd/drummed in the Fucking Wrath, and Mike Carter from Young Livers & Glass and Ashes is in the band too, not sure who the other dudes are, but it's pretty awesome ripping hardcore. I fucking loved the missing 23rd, and this is better. Not really comparable to Mike's bands as it's more straight up hardcore but with raging metal solos on a couple of the songs. kidamnesiac
I was in a band called To Russia for a couple years. They're still making tunes without me right now but the newest thing they've recorded was with me. I haven't posted this newest EP on the board yet, so fans of the band will definitely want to check this out: http://www.mediafire.com/file/g2mnnyd1mm2/To_Russia_2009.zip Our original demo can be had for free over on the archive in various formats, including lossless: http://www.archive.org/details/ToRussiaLiveDemoCd

I also really like the demo these guys put out: http://www.myspace.com/thisblackbox It's called "Reconstruction" and I really dig it. I've seen them a couple times as I'm pretty good friends with John and Carter. Band kills live. Jesse from Glass and Ashes also plays guitar. One of the loudest bands I've seen live in a while.
