thebiglebowski
So my sister won a netbook at a school party and put it on craigslist for $400. She received this response: "In regards to your response I'll like to buy this item, actually i supposed to come and check the item but im currently not in States right now so i wont be able to come over...im buying it this item for my overseas partner as a gift so I'll like to know the current condition of the item! I offer $600 for the item and payment will we handled via paypal also i'll include $200 for the shipping via USPS Express MAIL Service. so you can get back to me with your paypal email address so that i can proceed with the payment at once. Reply Asap." I am really cautious about craigslist and think this sounds too good to be true, so it must be a scam. She only asked for $400 and you can pretty much buy a brand new one from dell for that price. She asked me for advice, I don't know what to tell her, so I posted here. If she gets the money through paypal, ships it with insurance and delivery confirmation, is there any way she could get ripped off?
mygreatdevastator
When posting on CraigsList, write in the ad, "please type this into the subject line with a phone # to call, local deals only. Nigeria, go fuck yourself."
flood
um yeah total scam. USPS tracking overseas doesnt count for paypal protection, and you end up screwed. also why would anyone pay $800 for a netbook you can buy for $399... that should be your first clue

burdenx
Why not just open a Paypal account specifically for this transaction, receive the money, and then close it?
