kyle
Has anyone seen a picture disc that has a die cut image inside? I normally don't like picture discs but a band has an idea and it's actually kinda OK so I'm considering it. I guess I should just call the plant to see if it's something they'll do. kyle
No Pic Discs Please Looked at your tradelist, doesn't look like it's anything you'd care to own anyways. It's just a dumb 7" that we're doing for fun. It will be easier to manage, logistically, than the die cut vinyl idea they had before. beardinc
i saw the ET soundtrack that looked like it had a die cut image inside of ET's face at a record store around here, so I'm sure its possible. never seen that LTJ record though. kyle
i dont think they're diecut.. i think the image is printed on a clear medium Well, that achieves the same result, so that's still OK. Thanks for everyone's input.

goraiders
do people know what die cut is? i don't, but i'm interested in what makes this different than a normal pic disc.
vinyljunkie
the records posted ARE just normal picture discs.
suburbanargyle
Die cut would be like the new Off With Their Heads pic disc correct? Is this what Kyle is talking about?
vinyljunkie
i think after re-reading the original post that he means the image is die cut, and not the record is die cut. Which is what i originally thought. like a die cut plastic image stuck between 2 normal pieces of clear vinyl.
apeman
Important Records tried to do the thing with small cut-out goats placed inside the Boris - 'Vein' lp's. It didn't work out due to warping and displacement of whatever material they were made from, thus the screenprint solution instead.
