What Test Presses do you own?

A lot of times pressings aren't ready in time to coordinate with a band's tour, so they will press extra tests in order for them to have something to sell on tour.  Not saying that's the case here, but more times than not its why that occurs.

This here. I have a test press that is also technically the record release version of Rude Awakening - The Awakening that is out of 50.

Last MGMT had something similar.

Consider that for pressings that are several thousand in qty require new stampers for every thousand.

Tests should be done for every new set of stampers. I could see a large (10k+) pressing resulting in many sets of tests (usually 5+ TPs per stamper), easily resulting in 50 tests.

anyone know why 50 TP's would exist for a single pressing?

genuinely curious

What is mentioned above, as well as labels using them as more income to fund more releases, even though they are more so white labels. Mylene does is with most of their stuff. Not complaining (I have a few), but might as well call them white labels and not tests.

Hate to say, but this not real test press. It is a promo press. Unless the labels of this "Homogenic" is hand written.

Thanks for the info.  For me, I bought it only because I didn't have this album on vinyl and it was a good price so not being a real test press is okay.
