sharkticon
Neti Pot! Get one of these, follow the directions, pour it into your face, feel amazing.
kurtmanner
Neti pots are awesome! I also found that doing some facial massage really helps as well. The warmer your hands are the better. I normally rub my forehead in a circular motion and then work down the rest of my face kind of pulling down on the sides of my nose and right next to it. This helps loosen the mucus a bunch and should alleviate some of the pressure.
monsterrod
This makes me think of Crocodile Dundee when he mixed a partygoer's cocaine with steaming water and instructed him to inhale the vapors.
circlingvultures
Sudafed and neti pots are the way to go. The neti pot really helps. I use it while taking a warm shower. Clears out all the mucus and rinses out bacteria that could make things worse.

lonesomexloveus
sudafed sudafed sudafed. i get awful sinus infections every year and i usually let them go so long that they go into my eyes, which get infected and them i wind up with pinkeye. so if at all possible, i'd go to the doctor and get some antibiotics (z-pak is the best) to take care of that. nickj
without fail, i get 2x sinus infections ever year and the only thing that will ever make me better is amoxicillin. might want to hit up a doctor if you have the ability to do so. it'll save you lots of feeling like shit. otherwise, neti pot/saline spray are alright for non-medications. jcamps
nick j couldn't have said it better, i'm on my 8th day of amoxicillin and feel great. Neti pot all day though, I use it every day in the shower more or less. I get infections a few times a year, this one i fought off with a combo of the amox, fluticasone (flonase) spray, and sudafed/nyquil. I wish there was a more permanent remedy for sinus infections, they ruin my life and make me dread winter.

For the last three or four years now, twice a year when I get a cold, it turns into a sinus infection. The last time the doctor gave me an antibiotic, he gave me to high of a dosage and it actually gave me a c-diff infection. (If you don't know what that is, look it up. It's horrid.) It was recommended that I don't take those types of antibiotics anymore. So I was looking for some suggestions before I went back to the doctor. The neti pot helped temporarily, but I had to go see a doctor and I did get amoxicillin and Flonase, which is in a different family of antibiotics than what I was given before. I think I'm actually going to go to an Ear, Nose, Throat specialist and try and see why I get this shit twice a year instead of just getting drugs when I get sick. robx
there is a surgery you can get if you get sinus infections enough. It was recommended to me, but I can't afford it (even with health insurance).
hudsoncomplex
I use a Neti pot too, but it looks a little different. When I get sinus infections, I wish I had a shot gun to blow my head off. Ugh.
troymess
I get an annual sinus infection. Never heard of the Neti pot. I'll have to try it out. I usually just knock it out with antibiotics and sudafed.
oakland
I've suffered from constant SIs for years. The neti pot is great. Use it a lot. It's uncomfortable but good.
robx
neti pots: I use the spray bottle neti pots because I have really fucked up clogged sinuses and it seems to work better. I also no longer find them unenjoyable or uncomfortable.
jcamps
really? i can't get down with that thing, i have both and hate the bottle.
robx
really? i can't get down with that thing, i have both and hate the bottle. I think it just clears it out better. maybe it's just the pressure or something, but just using the pot seems to make me feel a little more clogged. plus it's easier to take on tour/trips. I like how when they say, "The balloon is gently inflated" it shows cracks into the bones haha... Have fun!

circlingvultures
It looks better then having the bone removed. I wonder how long that keeps the sinuses open or if you have to have it done multiple times for chronic infections.

nicole
i get awful sinus infections every year and i usually let them go so long that they go into my eyes, which get infected and them i wind up with pinkeye. That's fucking disguisting. Mike: Run a shower as hot you can and brush your teeth/gargle scope in the shower. The combination of steam and mentholatum will temporarily open up your sinuses. Feels awesome. Just be sure to use the strong mint mouthwash, not the burn-free cool mint stuff. But of course that's just a temp fix. Only an antibiotic will get rid of infection.
