jhulud
so the guy got back to me and told me that next time i buy a used record, i need to contact the seller and request an LP mailer. That has got to be the most dumb thing I have ever heard a record seller say. It should be a fuckin' given that if you're selling a record, it should be shipped in an LP mailer. Unless you're a complete idiot and shouldn't be selling records anyways.
element101
im too lazy to read through the thread, but can you give the name of the seller so I dont buy anything from them.
suchashorttime
joopajoop and i was just checking feedback, i am the third person to leave feedback that describes crappy packaging. don't buy from this dude. doesn't care.

I hate to leave negative feedback, but a response like that is so ridiculous that it completely warrants, at the very least, neutral. popquizkid
I agree. I would leave negative feedback on that; the guy should have just apologized instead of coming up with some ridiculous rationalization.
suchashorttime
i left neutral and just told it how it was. anyone ever listen to folly? sometimes i wish i could impose an audio clip from Bonfire of The Manatees when Jon starts screaming, "ANYTHING THAT'S WORTH DOING IS WORTH DOING RIGHT!" hahaha
jerseydave77
I agree - With that response I would have voted negative so that no one would miss that this guy doesn't think records should be packaged in an appropriate box unless by special request. Jackass.
pukebileforever
so the guy got back to me and told me that next time i buy a used record, i need to contact the seller and request an LP mailer. lame. What a fucktard. I've never ordered something online, and had to privately message the seller asking, "hey can you do me a favor and ship my item in the box specifically made for it so it doesn't get fucking destroyed in transit? Thanks".
Guest vinyldoa
what a dick. I definitely would have given hi negative feedback.
popquizkid
Does the shipper live in New York? If so, I want to throw a snowball at his apartment.
hollisbrown
I've seen far worse packing jobs from a good chunk of sellers on this forum!
pukebileforever
Ya someone once shipped me an original press of Bad Religion - Back to the Known in a mangled Domino's pizza box. Wish I took a picture.
suchashorttime
dang! we should turn this into a packing horror story thread! can we get a mod to change the title?
hollisbrown
The contents of that box were totally destroyed. There was over $250 worth of vinyl that was tossed in a flimsy box with no protection whatsoever.

hollisbrown
The seller only took responsibility after I placed a claim with Paypal . Someone should post a sticky with proper packing instructions. And don't get me started on how many times I've purchased records here that arrive damaged. It's pretty ridiculous really. seafoamgreen
Repurposing USPS packaging is also a federal offense. That's an easy card to play when someone's such a cock.

weaksuperhero
i received a record today that i paid $12 to get shipped and it came in media mail priced at $3.16. it was in a mailer but no cardboard, the record got tossed around and it ripped the spine. totally pissed i contact the seller to compliment him on his shipping services and he gets offended that I'm pissed. i don't even want to try to resole it now, i just want to leave negative feedback now. it that harsh?
