jblahmaster
Man, the spines on these are immense. Need to pick these up
mcpherson123
I think my girlfriend is gonna pick these up for me. I'll have to wait til my birthday to find out. Luckily its only about 20 days away. I'm sure they won't sell out before then.
kidamnesiac
Got these from the 'zon today and contrary to what others have been saying, I hear a vast improvement over my OG copies. Fuller, louder, and more punch without overcompression. Currently cranking Hummer. Packaging is gorgeous. It's a credit to Billy how well these were handled. I'm ecstatic. brammyg
Gish is 14.99 and SD is 18.99 @ Sunrise Records in Toronto. I have the repress of SD that came out a couple years ago...is it worth it to buy this new one? I always thought it sounded alright.

I personally didn't notice any improvement in sound quality but I also didn't notice any decrease either as some have reported. My go to LP will still be the black vinyl reissue that came out a few years ago. The packaging, though, blew me away and I am more than happy with my purchase. dreamover
i would've liked the coverart better if it was just metallic versions of the original. i also really like the booklet covers in the cd boxsets. i would've been fine with those as the covers. (They had the CD/DVD set so it's not like they didn't know it was out.)
theinkd
i think Gish sounds great, a lot clearer mix and a more punchy bass response

kidamnesiac
I'm really surprised that anyone is saying that these sound bad or no better than previous presses. I've been listening to these albums for years. From cassette to CD to vinyl. I know every in and out. Ever nuance. I think these remasters are fantastic. The improvement is somehow subtle and dramatic at the same time. Anyone who has a serious connection to this music like I do would be doing themselves a serious disservice by passing on these. That said, the improvement for Gish is much more dramatic than the improvement for Siamese Dream. Yes. And I also would have preferred the original artwork for these, but the foil reflective stuff on the cover is pretty awesome and the new artwork does have a certain charm. The stock they used on these is extra thick, the inserts are incredible. I'm pretty much freaking out, I love these so much!!! I can't wait to see how Billy treats the rest of the catalog in the coming years.

I think I'll pass on the SD vinyl for now, really strapped for cash and I think my copy will do just fine. Maybe I'll find it on Hot Topic clearance soon or something... madtired
got the SD reissue yesterday as a gift and was doing an A/B comparison of the recent vinyl reissue from 07 or 08 (I have the orange marbled version) -- weird that I thought Cherub Rock sounded better on the new version, but then Quiet sounded more 'full' to me on the 07 version. Haven't made it all the way through but was just curious if anyone else had compared the release from a few years ago to this one and found the same.. I must also comment that I had actually asked for the 2cd/dvd package for the bonus tracks and the dvd, but my wife said cd's have no place in our house! Love my wife
josh83
So pisces is next to get the treatment around RSD, has it been stated when Mellon colie is happening?
mcpherson123
Hopefully it gets released sometime in the Summer. I would hate to have to wait all the way until the next Christmas season for Mellon. That said, my awesome girlfriend gave me these (and a shitload of other awesome shit) for my birthday and I'm very impressed and happy with them. The bass guitar on certain Gish tracks has a very prominent and audible/tangible tone. Those tracks remind of the tone from Rage Against The Machine's Evil Empire. The vinyl compliments the reproduction of that sound amazingly.
