chlihead
I have to admit, I never heard Against Me....just read here and there about those guys. Then I saw that they are playing in my city. Bought 2 tickets, for the lady and me.....so we went there. the first band were some local dudes. Well. BUT -the second band CRAZY ARMS from the UK. MAN, THESE BASTARDS ARE BIG. Bloody hell, they rock. Super tight sound. The singer with a great voice, variety, speed, feeling. Everything perfect. Then after another two beers and a smile on my face...Against Me. The first song. Hm ok. The second one. Ok. And after several more, we went to a tapas bar. the songs were so similar, the speed - always the same. Man, that was boring. So, if you have the chance to see CRAZY ARMS. Go for it. And if you want to eat brilliant spanish food. Ask me. My breath is full of beer, garlic, fish, meat....PERFECT! Snaggle Von Swift
I saw them a few months back at a smaller club.. I thought they were great, it was my first time seeing them, tons of energy and sounded tight/good. Maybe I just got them on a good night. mcm1610
I've seen Against Me! 5 or 6 times ranging from 2004 through last year, and I haven't been disappointed. I definitely liked them live 7 years ago a bit more than last year, but they're still a good live band. It's just... I want them to be playing the old songs with raw energy rather than being a more professional performance. It seems they've outgrown the surrounded-by-fans, singalong mayhem shows to be more of a stage show, and good for them if that's what they want, but it's not quite as fun. But on the same note, the songs they write now aren't raw gang-vocal filled, high energy jams, so it would be awkward to have those smaller old performances with new songs. stopthisnoise
cool, you have an opinion about a band I like. Wait, should I be a dickhead and tell you that you're wrong? No, c'mon now, who the fuck does that?
ericheartsu
It's possible since this was a supporting tour for them, they just played a bunch of newer songs, as that's what they are trying to sell, their new record. But as a live band, they are one of the best bands i've ever seen. and i've seen them two to five times a year since 2003.
chlihead
Why wouldn't you listen to them before buying tickets? Why wouldn't you listen to them before buying tickets?
