lokithelion
If you've read the Time magazine article this is a rebuttal. If you haven't we link to it in the piece. Zac did a great job with this. http://www.the1stfive.com/features/how-to-be-in-a-band-and-not-spend-100k-do-things-right
hipsterasfolk
that was pretty legit.

controlthebleeding
Band has since deleted the FB page due to an influx of FUCK YOUR SHOWS comments. I love how they use quotes from ERIC WOOD responses to AKRON FAMILY for this band... good times.

lokithelion
I sort of feel bad for them. Then I remember they could have funded an entire record label for what they spent on themselves.
jerseydave77
That is a truly embarrassing assessment of one's aspirations. You could replace pretty much any profession with musician and feel just as embarrassed. Further, whatever publicist or manager advised that this was a good idea should be canned instantly. raidenradio
Great article. Thanks. A friend and I are in the process of making music together. My goal is nothing more than to make something I am proud of.

selfreliable
Im from Maine, and the stations in their home town would reach here, and I have never even heard of this band. They are from a super rich area though, where everything is handed to you and the likes of super rich celebrities have vacation homes, so Im not surprised that they think it is hard and necessary to throw 100 grand and complain about it. jhulud
The original Time piece...and the subsequent responses...especially Zac's on The 1st Five...have pretty much set the 'net ablaze...and hilarity is ensuing like crazy! I love it! The FB page is pure comedy gold!
selfreliable
http://www.facebook.com/TwoLightsMusic Its a fake account, they are doing a good job though acting like douchebags for them.
Guest
I know...I saw it at 4am or whenever it was made, but the lulz didn't start until this afternoon.
BuzzersonKillwell
In most cases, if your low on talent the barrier for entry is always harder and higher. So long as these dudes are focusing on what they'd like to do rather than what they are good at they can expect to keep seeing shitty returns on their "investment". The silver lining is perhaps the readers of Time (i.e. Parents) will be discouraged from handing out money to their entitled children for useless pursuits and we'll all suffer less of these types of "artists" as a result. jerseydave77
"Two Lights Any press is good press. We're just trying to take this to the next level, so thanks to "Zac Hobbs" for caring so much. Must be nice to live in Atlanta and not have to pay as much as us to be in an indie band."

turbobrando
We need to look at the bigger picture here. Are they the ones paying for it...... or their parents?
jerseydave77
Ok, now I think this Facebook is either fake or they really are the biggest asses ever. Here's a comment after someone else posted on their wall: "Two Lights Haters like you are why we deleted our last Facebook. Go listen to hot Water Music or some band that doesn't care about #thecraft enough to spring for vocal lessons. #leavetwolightsalone 23 minutes ago · Like"
selfreliable
yeah it is fake. Look at the info about them, its just stuff pulled from the article, and they are leaving comments on other pages looking like total douches. Someone is trolling them hard and giving them a terrible name.
jerseydave77
Yeah, look at their "likes" - it was fun for a minute.
