They don't have cystic fibrosis, but could have problems and develop a milder form of it it in the future. I'm raising money to help find a cure for Cystic FibrosisI'm a CF carrier and gave the gene to my girls. My wife has a tiny typo on her gene that when paired with mine can POSSIBLY cause atypical CF (much milder symptoms of CF or symptoms at an older age) - lung problems/infections, sinus problems, and pancreas problems and trouble gaining weight due to stickier than normal mucus in their bodies. They have borderline elevated higher levels of salt in their sweat, but not high enough to be considered cystic fibrosis. The girls are monitored by a CF specialist every 3 months, but so far are doing fantastic. But you know what? I'm a dad too and I can't even imagine having to deal with all of the possibilities for ailment in the future for your girls. So, I just donated a little bit. Hope to do it again.
