robthepenguin
Didn't see another thread on this. They just announced the "first wave" lineup... maneatingcow
This lineup can't be real. Elvis freakin' Costello, Descendents, Frank Turner, Gogol Bordello, NOFX, Off With Their Heads, Less than Jake. I seriously just blew my load.
riddle350
I want to go to there.
bgdesign
Just bought VIP. Comes with 10 drink tickets a day. That's a good deal.
One Hundred Fifty-Two
Funky Butt-Lovin' This lineup is massive.
turbobrando
Would love to go. Can't drop the $100 on a 3 day pass (which is stupid cheap btw) since I'm already planning a trip out to Chicago for Memorial Day weekend. It's worth it just to see bands like Jesus and Mary Chain, Elvis Costello and Iggy
imaminorthreat
I'd be leery of the vip thing with the drink tickets. Riot Fest will be looking to fleece you any way possible, I'd expect those to work for 10 pbr's or something silly like that. I'd pay the minimal amount of money and keep your hopes low. I've gone to Riot Fest every year since... 2003? Every year there's more and more sketchiness. Be careful folks. Grabbed a 3 day wristband because the show is going to be 2 blocks from my front door.... plan on heading back to my apartment to slug beers in between the shitty bands. Oh, and that being said... I woulda payed $200 to see just the descendents again. So I figure if I only catch them and Iggy, I got my money's worth.
hipsterasfolk
Going for the Chiodos, nothing I love more than being obnoxiously drunk singing washed up pop bands from High School.
timbrh2001
SLAPSTICK REUNITES!!!! Havent seen them since their "final show" at the Fireside Bowl well over 10 years ago. Them aloje was worth the 100 bucks for the 3 day pass.
GradedOnACurve
Man so fucking tempting and I have a four day weekend already that weekend!
timbrh2001
Just bought VIP. Comes with 10 drink tickets a day. That's a good deal. It is a good deal if youre only looking to go to the 2 day fest outdoors. I need the 3 day pass to have access to opening night at the Congress as well as the secret shows still waiting to be announced.
One Hundred Fifty-Two
Bands I'd really like to see: Rise Against Elvis Costello Descendents The Offspring Dropkick Murphys Alkaline Trio NOFX Slapstick The Gaslight Anthem Frank Turner GWAR Less Than Jake Fishbone A Wilhelm Scream Teenage Bottlerocket Off With Their Heads As long as 4 of those bands play each day in the park it'll be worth $18 a day. The Carnival rides alone are almost worth the 18 bucks a day. For 100 bucks you get a 2 day outdoor fest pass, the kickoff concert at the Congress and at least 3 other secret show after parties. Last year one of the secret shows was the Suicide Machines doing their entire Destruction By Definition album live.
maneatingcow
Alot of Fests and large concerts use drink tickets. So the 10 drink tickets per day will probably end up bein 1.5-2.5 beers per day. My guess is it will be a beer costs 4-6 drink tickets. Still think the VIP is something I might buy, but I don't think your going to be getting 10 beers, or even 10 sodas per day free with the VIP. scottheisel
This lineup is seriously insane. So glad I convinced my higher-ups to sponsor Riot Fest again this year so I can go for free!

Its nearly a 120 dollar difference between the regular 2 day pass and the VIP. At 10 bucks a beer you could buy 12 beers with that price difference but not get the other VIP member exclusives. timbrh2001
Oops, at 10 beers per day, that would make 20 beers. Nevermind. Still a good deal if youre only wanting the outdoor portion.

idreamofpunk
With as tall and intimidating as Scott looks (without talking to him because he's super nice), he wouldn't be able to convince anyone that he NEEDS a security guard. ANd this is after watching him watch over the pit at that Touche Amore show in Rockford. Crazy.

tkprtyrhd
Waiting for the rest of the headliners before deciding, it's sort of 50% shit and 50% good, how is ADTR listed higher than JAMC
kriss
Waiting for the rest of the headliners before deciding, it's sort of 50% shit and 50% good, how is ADTR listed higher than JAMC This. Will skip the congress but thinking the two days at Humboldt Park are a go since that park is literally seven minutes walking from my place. I'd like to know who is plwying on what day though, would be bummed if the Stooges were playing the congress show.
