flood
also we've hit a little bit of a lull in our upward momentum here... if all of the ska kids could forward this link out on facebook/twitter today it would be very much appreciated ketchupnmustud
mclz
I'd rather see the Tim Armstrong first.

timbrh2001
Just realized Skankin' Pickle - Live has never been released on vinyl. This NEEDS to happen someday. IMO its a requirement to any ska fan's collection.
rudeboydh
Just realized Skankin' Pickle - Live has never been released on vinyl. This NEEDS to happen someday. IMO its a requirement to any ska fan's collection. Personally, I'd rather see stuff from bands that haven't released hardly anything on vinyl. Let's Go Bowling, Skandalous All-Stars, King Apparatus and Chris Murray. Any of these would be great. Also some MMB represses would be awesome. flood
we've been offered to do the skandalous all stars stuff... problem is.. its all covers... and that ends up being a couple hundred bucks easy to clear the entire record

That's my favorite one, and I don't believe it's covers.
timbrh2001
Emailed Mike today and he said there will probably never be a pressing of Skankin' Pickle - Live on vinyl unfortunately. How hard was it to get AMR to license out the BLB - S/T?
ketchupnmustud
I think it would be cool to see some Voodoo Glow Skulls on vinyl or mighty mighty bosstones also.

Voodoo Glow Skulls has plenty on vinyl and all for reasonable prices too. Check eBay. But I agree, some MMB reissues would be pretty awesome. ketchupnmustud
Oh really? I'll have to check that out then, thanks for the headsup!
rudeboydh
Oh really? I'll have to check that out then, thanks for the headsup! And Interpunk has some stuff of theirs too. ketchupnmustud

I bought Firme for $3 plus shipping from Japan on eBay as well, though the eBay seller was a scam artist and I never ended up receiving the item. Other than those 2 albums and the 7"s that came out around that time, I've got no use for the rest of their catalog.

flood
who is this is, and firme are two of the best skacore records ever made... those dudes are no joke live.. so fast.
xjustinxschwierx
Yeah, both versions of Firme, Baile de los locos...even their later album Symbolic is great, Band Geek Mafia has the craziest horn lines, but the lyrics are too stupid to handle...even for a ska band. Haven't heard the newest one, but I've kept up with them relatively well.
flood
totally forgot about baile de los locos.. i loved that record.
ketchupnmustud
Ya they came to play over where I live a few times. They were awesome live, my friend's band opened for them too which was pretty cool. Insubordination was sick IMO and I Used to Love Her (but I had to kill her). Isn't that song a cover? Love both those albums. After Firme, they lost my interest. Didn't care much for Baile either.

rudeboydh
I think they're one of those bands that translates much beter live for me. Just something about his voice on the recordings grates on my nerves...
hellbent
I've seen VGS a lot and they never put on a bad show. I love a lot of what they did up to Symbolic but after that it was very much hit and miss for me.
fieldstvl
I've just been reading through this whole thread... it's a great idea. Is there anything else that can be done/help offered to get any Goldfinger stuff pressed? Thanks
flood
its something we've been looking into.... major label licensing is a pain in the ass to begin with, especially harder when the label went under and was transferred like 4 times
