Rotel Pre and Amp Opinions

Hey guys/gals:

I recently visited my local home audio store as I am planning on upgrading some of the components in my chain.

Currently, I have have an Optimus reciever and speakers as well as a Project Debut III.

Im looking to make a nice step up with this purchase and so far I have bought a pair of B&W 685s and stands.

The nice fella at the audio store has both a Rotel 1550 Pre and 1562 Amp paired up for $900. I know the 1562 is a class D amp, but will I honestly notice a huge different between the class D and A/B amplifiers?

So I ask you (besides the question above), should I go ahead and pick these guys up, or does anyone have another recommendation for me?

You won't notice a difference between the amp styles. You'll only notice how incredibly your system is going to sound going from junk to quality products. Also that's a hell of a deal. Those amps alone were $900 if I remember correctly.

Go for it! This set retails here for around $1700. For $900 it's a steal.

well i guess thats good enough for me! obviously there are better units out there but it doesnt seem like Ill get a decent price match.

if i was to look at something else, I guess it would be marantz or NAD right?

I wouldn't look anywhere else. That's a ridiculous deal, and Rotel makes incredible products. Their phono preamps are insanely good.
