iammattman27
Saw a copy at HT in Riverside, CA today. A couple copies of Illusion of Safety too.
krisakarcher
Sorry to be that guy, but this record sounds terrible. There's tons of surface noise on each sides. I thought my stylus was broken or something at first, I ended up cleaning it between each side. Just to be sure I even pulled out the original pressing and I'm listening to it now, and it sounds great. Anyone else feel this way, or should I attempt to get this exchanged in case I got a bad copy? That's disappointing.
travis
This record was pressed exactly like all the other Universal/HT exclusives.

krisakarcher
can anyone pick this up at a local store and ship it to germany, please? I can try the next time I'm at the mall. Unless you want me to just buy it online. Then ship it too ya. You'd be paying shipping twice but I'm sure it would be better then the international shipping. Pm me if you'd like. birdturbo
Got my copy in today. Kinda scared to listen after hearing all these horror stories
atticus
definitely not an audiophile pressing by any means and the top left corner of mine was bent, but I'm just happy to have the album. Sounds like a CD rip. I'm not getting the surface noise that other people are though which is good.

bluethumb
Really glad I waited so long for this release and now it's apparently shit...Guess I won't even bother picking it up and just look for an OG.
travis
Funny cause this was pressed at the same plant in the exact same way as ACBtLD and everyone said that one sounded great.
throwgncpr
Funny cause this was pressed at the same plant in the exact same way as ACBtLD and everyone said that one sounded great. I haven't heard either yet, so I'm reserving judgment, but I still find it hard to believe that ACBtLD sounded great - which is no fault of the press
travis
Most people were saying the vinyl sounded better than the CD
throwgncpr
I think what is creating a difference in perception is the difference in the source material. WATT was beautifully recorded and mastered, and sounds quite nice on CD. I think that expectations were high for a vinyl edition. Without remastering it for vinyl, there is not going to be much gain for people, and if there is any amount of surface noise, it will probably be perceived poorly ACBtLD on the other hand, sounds like crap on CD. It's terribly mixed, and suffers badly from clipping. A vinyl release of this, even if not remastered may sound slightly warmer and better to a lot of listeners, given there isn't a ton of surface noise. It's not really a fair comparison.
