Urban Outfitters Exclusive Vinyl & Sale Discussion

Recommended Posts

Much like all items in their stores, their selection of vinyl is grossly overpriced. Granted, if I liked bands that had exclusive urban outfitters variants,I'd buy.

The trick is to wait about 3-4 months and pick up what you want on clearance for $9.99 or even $4.99 if they are running a 50% off clearance special. I definitely paid $9.99 for EMA, Rapture, and Of Montreal.

Wanted that M83 one so badly...goes for like 100 on ebay. ugh.

$48 on Discogs. http://www.discogs.com/M83-Hurry-Up-Were-Dreaming/release/3191969

Or as someone pointed out, $25 (+$10 shipping) from Urban Outfitters: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=24713653

I'm not really in a position to be spending $12-15 extra for the colored version of a record, or I'd be all over that.

Those who saw EMA on clearance, want to pick me up a copy?

I don't trust that Urban Outfitters one to actually be the colored one.

edit: or maybe it is...i looked not too long ago and it wasn't there...and it's gone for big money on ebay...hmm...

There's a 30% off sale items in store. Grabbed The Rapture and Wilco whole love for $7 each. Grabbed a white Best Coast while I was at it, that one was $20.

Thanks for this info. I always miss out in these. Scored Wilco, Pharcyde, J Dilla, 2 Gratefull Dead reissues, and TWO Of Montreal's on sea foam green, all for 6.99 each.

I wouldnt care if urban outfitters had the exclusive extinguisher to put me out if I were engulfed in flames; I refuse to spend any money in that establishment.

Cool bro. Maybe you could "understand why someone would be stoked on the exclusiveness" then?

This isn't an "opinions of UO" thread. We get it, you are sooo rock 'n roll. This is a collector thread. Hate on it somewhere else if you don't like it.

Do you have one of these shirts? Did you buy it at Urban Outfitters with your cool records?

My apologies, for a second there I almost thought this was the internet and you didn't necessarily have to read my post. As far as being soooo rock n' roll; my stance against UO has nothing to do with being too cool for school. It's more the fact that UO has been known for stealing artwork and designs from independent artists, as well as pulling any product that remotely promotes same sex affiliation.
