Since then I've only missed them maybe 2 or 3 times that they've rolled through Chicago. Always loved their music and they always put on a good show. R.I.P. I went to see him solo about 18 months ago, he was excited to go back home and see his kids and was psyched about Matt Riddle being better and potentially going on tour. Spoke to him after the show and he was tired, but really genuine. Thanked me for coming and picking up a shirt, and it seemed like he meant it. He left behind a hell of a song book. Opened my eyes to all sorts of stuff lyrically (domestic abuse, war, intolerance, drugs, etc.). Leche Con Carne and Making Friends are flawless, in my eyes.
