Sad Heart
Man every time I think of one, I think of why it would not be in my favorite of all time. I think I have 3/10 so far, maybe. I'm saying, man, it's tough. When I tried to do it I think it took me about an hour. I had to think ok, can I really live without this album? Does this album truly deserve a spot if I'm to only listen to these 10 for the rest of my life? It oddly shows you a little about yourself you might not have known. (Keep in mind, this isn't most influential albums of all time - those two have some pretty big differences for me.)
Guest
I agree favorite and most influential to you are completely different, however the two can overlap pretty easily.
DecayToDeath
I agree favorite and most influential to you are completely different, however the two can overlap pretty easily. Yeah the most influential to me are probably way less respectable records than my "favorites".

And yes, I'm working on mine as well.

llamaface
The worst was all the IV painkillers were still in my system when I left the hospital so I was like "This isn't going to be bad" Then I woke up a few hours later like "Oh, I'm gonna die" Also, I was told not to ejaculate for a month. A MONTH! I was not given that instruction, but I also did not have the swelling issue. My body would most certainly ejaculate on its on before a month was up. Pretty bold statement with that TYS considering it only came out last year. It also doesn't count cause you're not under 20. So all your albums need to be over 5 years old (makes it more interesting that way). I will, however, not make anyone number their list / do any order of importance. I'm not that evil. Guest
I think I'm getting close. My list seems to be all 90's and 2000's, which makes sense, since that is when I found my own way into music around then. I was no longer listening to what my parents listened to, or what I heard on the radio. So many old albums could makes the list, but I feel like they'd be more on my influence list not favorite. That's what I'm after; the list that is of those albums that you found yourself, that mean so much to you, that weren't influenced by anyone else. This list will tell me a lot about who you are, so I'm interested to see what people have on their list.
Sad Heart
You're looking at your handful of albums and ask yourself: 'Ok, do I love this album or really love this fucking album'?
Guest
I think I have about 8 now. Every album I'm thinking so far gets spun far more than anything else I own, and I know the lyrics to every song. I'd certainly be happy not listening to anything else for the rest of my life if forced. The last few spots are tough though, as I have some in mind but I don't know if they what I'd want to listen to forever.

Guest
Well, in no particular order and based on how I feel at this exact moment in time, here is my list. I'm fairly confident in most of it, with only on or two possibly being changed out. Every album gets spun a lot, and I really fucking love them all. Kay Kay And His Weathered Underground - S/T (2008) Portugal. The Man - Censored Colors (2008) Texas Is The Reason - Do You Know Who You Are? (1996) Cursive - Domestica (2000) Asobi Seksu - Citrus (2006) The Get Up Kids - Four Minute Mile (1997) Mineral - Endserenading (1998) Owen - At Home With Owen (2006) At The Drive-In - In/Casino/Out (1998) Elliott Smith – XO (1998)

Yeah, an album that you can't go a week without spinning should definitely be a contender. And it's always the last few that seem to be the hardest to narrow down. I feel your pain. Try not to repeat any bands or artists if possible. You can however have different acts / side projects.

Really surprised by Portugal.
Guest
Portugal. The Man has always been one of my favorite bands since the day I heard Waiter when it came out. There is just something that draws me into every album they make, and I love how different they all are. Censored Colors is my favorite lyrically, and I think the influence from the Kay Kay guys on it is what pulls me into it the most. There is no way I can live without that TITR album. Now I'm a bit curious about my most influential, because I doubt it'll be even close to the same the more I think about it.

I used to listen to Portugal so much. 2006-2009 they were in heavy rotation. Then I could of stopped listening to them when Satanic Satanist came out. My mood shifted so my genres did accordingly. Maybe I should pick them back up at some point. GOOD. I approve of that decision. Do that list too!

My main problem with Evil Friends is Danger Mouse produced it, and you can tell. I am not a huge Danger Mouse fan, all the stuff he produces has the same feel to it a lot. In The Mountain In The Clouds is awesome though, check that out. I'm working on that list now, it's a lot different. Some albums I don't even like anymore at all, but they were a huge influence on my life/my music choices there after.

I gave it a listen when it came out and all I heard was 'radio rock'; definitely wasn't feeling it. Not a Danger Mouse, huh? Have you heard this: https://open.spotify.com/album/2nBo5nFoszkjuY0bxv1y0A Isn't it weird how that can happen? Like, an album that you don't necessarily love anymore, but it opened the gate to so many other bands / albums that it might have to go on the list.
