sergeantscruffy
This is one of the stranger things I've seen today. https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=http%253A%252F%252Fapi.soundcloud.com%252Ftracks%252F79470361&show_artwork=true Rutherford Chang is an artist who has been collecting original pressings of The Beatles' "White Album" for many years. His new gallery show, "We Buy White Albums" at the Recess Gallery in New York City, displays a large chunk of his collection, and features sound art created from the vinyl albums. This piece overlays the audio from 100 vinyl pressings of the album's first side. This allows you to hear the variations in seemingly identical pressings – you start to hear the recordings fall out of phase early on, but by the time "Glass Onion" kicks in, it's a very, very trippy experience. ddoherty
This is pretty sweet. Not sure if its an instillation or a collection, but sweet none the less.
