His stuff with Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Missy Elliott, and the first two JT albums are unfuckwithable as far as 2000s pop goes. Also, 75% of Shock Value is musically awesome. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but he gets a bad rap for no reason IMHO. I can dig someone else having a different opinion on his work. It's just that for me it all seems to sound the same. Sometimes I like his style and sometimes it just gets my eyes to glaze over, ya know? Almost like too much of it at once maybe? Take for example the song Come Around by MIA. Produced by Timbaland and it's the only track on Kala that is. So when I hear the record, I'm ok with that one track sounding "like Timbaland's usual stuff" because the rest of the record doesn't. Uhhhh have you listened to Future/Sex? Love Stoned immediately comes to mind. Justin has had a knack for long intro's and outro's before this release. I was able to fix it with a wet velvet brush. If you try it, be persistent. It took 20+ times of cleaning, drying, and playing before it would play through the skip. I have a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon with Ortofon 2M Red stylus. Very pleased with the release otherwise. My wife got me the Target releases for my birthday. That, combined with leftover gunk from the mold release compound, are probably causing the skipping. I've actually been able to fix a few skipping records using the method I described.
