Im so old when punk first hit there were record stores, but to get the "good" stuff you had to order from an ad in some punkzine or order a catalog, get a money order, put it in the mail and hope for the best. But I also am old enough to see the Ramones at a bar with about people there...they plated their 20 min. set and blew out the power...after power was fixed they came out and did ther set twice. I suppose we were inherently more patient, because there was no other option. I still try to hold on to the past like that whenever I can. It's just less stressful, in my opinion. I worked with a great guy who's in his fifties and had so many stories of seeing Grateful Dead and Neil Young in NY in the seventies, and I was severely jealous. I like to think I'm an old soul. I love the convenience of things today, but I still remember the satisfaction of the pursuit/experience from before the Internet. I'm only 30, so I can't exactly spin yarns of days gone by, but I do miss the investment/payoff. I'm more in love with the albums I listened to 15-20 years ago than a lot of the albums I listen to recently. And I think that will hold true, simply because of the experience involved with tracking down/listening to the albums. Alright, time to switch to water for a round. However, I'm not THAT interested in these. Already spent WAYYY too much getting the 2 colors I was missing of their S/T LP.
