beardacus
New track just posted via their Facebook, called "Don't Blink from their forthcoming record, "Collapsible Lung" I approve. SpazzyMcGee and CrashBandicoot
jonnywreck
I hope the album doesn't veer towards that shit song co-written with pink's producer they were playing on their last tour. This song is a total jam. Just saw that three of their members aren't touring with the band anymore and the record's been pushed back. Wonder what's up. Aych
I've been a fan of Relient K for a long, long time - they were the first "real" band I got into - and, even though this is pretty different from what I'm used to hearing from them, I really like it. Here's hoping for a great album... and a vinyl pressing that doesn't cost $50. SpazzyMcGee and beardacus
SpazzyMcGee
Wasn't sure of what to expect with Facebook comments like "OMG SO GOOD<3" but I like it enough to keep pressing the replay button on YouTube. Collapsible Lung is an interesting album name choice but I'm sure it fits somewhere. Kept trying to work in a pun within the title but couldn't come up with anything lol
cwhitmuzik
Kind of bummed they aren't expanding on the FANSD sound but whatever works for them.

I believe that John and Jon are just taking a break from touring, however Ethan is no longer with them. And I think the push backs have already been there with them doing it on their own label and such.

taylo234
Pretty good song, I like it. Doesn't really click like basically every other song of theirs, but, I have hope for the new record.

mmhmm
That "something shiny" was supposed to be their new album, from what I hear. It's been delayed till July..but if there is something shiny, let us know anyway
beardacus
Kind of bummed they aren't expanding on the FANSD sound but whatever works for them. I'm definitely in the minority in saying this, but I wasn't the biggest fan of "Forget.." I felt like they were trying too hard to be a band that they're not. It was a good record, but it was sounding too much like Death Cab, and not enough like Relient K. To me, they are at their best when they are putting out really great fast, smart, and even sometimes funny pop punk songs. I'm hoping they're returning to the "Mmhmm/Five Score" sound on this new record. Don't know if anyone's going, but this is their show lineup. 000000
Kinda bummed that this wasn't a Doctor Who reference. Also Thiessen sounds a lot different, but I haven't really listened to anything after Mmhmm much...

popscratch
So to my knowledge nothing new and shiny was there. There was a t shirt that was /100 that had zombies on it, but they only had smalls. They played a fairly long set... I'll put the setlist up when I get home
popscratch
Ok so I'm pretty sure this is the order, there may be one or two that are swapped that shouldn't be, but these are all the songs they played: Who I Am Hates Who I've Been High of 75 Mood Rings In Love With the 80's Candelight Sahara The Lining is Silver Boomerang (New Song) 17 Magazine (Acoustic) The Best Thing (Acoustic) The One I'm Waiting For (Acoustic) Forget and Not Slow Down Savannah Pressing On Sadie Hawkins Dance Collapsible Lung (New Song) Encore:Don't Blink Which to Bury, Us or the Hatchet? Be My Escape brianmorgante
AlexH.
17 Magazine (Acoustic) Whoa, this has to be the first time in quite a while they've played anything off s/t besides Softer To Me. I'm realizing now that I've seen Relient K at least 8 times. Fuck. I will be at the Mpls show, probably getting drunk and yelling for them to play Jefferson Aero Plane. By the looks of their Facebook wall, their fanbase is still comprised entirely of uber-Christian teenage girls. So I already know that's going to bum me out. brianmorgante
taylo234
How were the new songs? I think they played boomerang at the show last July I went to and remember it being pretty good but really poppy.

I really liked Boomerang, and Collapsible Lung was alright, and Don't Blink was somewhere in the middle of those two for me
brianmorgante
Setlist seems a little random, but I'm still stoked. I haven't seen Relient K in years, and it's always a nice little reminder of the younger days.
beardacus
This looks to be a legitimate conformation there's going to be a vinyl release of 'Collapsible Lung.' But with side A looking like six songs on its side, it seems like this might only be a single LP. http://instagram.com/p/Ytq74GyCFp/ Also, here's to hoping the Joh(n)s stay in the band. I've loved their influence over the past few records. SpazzyMcGee
