My question is, hows the transition from disc to disc?

You know when you're driving your old pick-up down a dirt road on the way to the creek and your favorite kissing cousin is goin down, then you hit the wrong pothole, he bites off yer junk, and you give him a bloody facial? Kinda like that.

This is the worst $50 I've ever spent and I've drunkenly played blackjack for the first time at a casino. At least that was fun...

Got mine today. Arrived pretty fucked up as everyone else’s. Couple scuffs on the actual records too from sliding all around ☹️ Just curious for those that got a decent copy, hows the sound quality? I tried spinning a couple n the surface noise is unbearable! Not sure if that’s in general or because mine got beat up so bad in the mail...

I thought mine sounded fine. Definitely not the best sounding, but not terrible. You can hear it in my IG story until tomorrow - https://www.instagram.com/stories/justinadamk/2551899845747438809/

When I picked it up from the shitty package it did have a “dusty” dead stock feel to it and the shrink wrap seemed old. I’ve seen pictures of sealed copies that also make it seem like they’ve sat around for some years.

If this is correct, will explain why those who have requested replacement jackets so far have reported being told there aren't any and none will be produced in the future. Completely refuse any refunds too.

If they have been sat on these for years shouldn't they have said so for clarity, the more I read different results coming through the more I feel they miss-sold this.

My favourite part of this conspiracy theory is that the band “waited until the right moment” to drop these.

What is this right moment? When you all got your fucken stimulus checks?

Perhaps the 10th anniversary of the release?

Something new to commemorate the 10th anniversary would indeed make sense. But the “let’s only sell 120 of these and sit on the other 90% of them for seven or eight years for shits and giggles” thought is kind of ridiculous, isn’t it?

With almost all other bands, I'd agree with you. But with GJ - it's not as ridiculous to me, which is why I threw out my speculative thought.

Ugh, just got home to see this at the front door. This ended up being extremely disappointing.

Ordered the Orange/Clear/Blue.

Mailer was fine but all three rings came loose inside the packaging, with very visible scuffs. The ring holders are all damaged as well. This was partially expected.

My biggest problem with this is that none of my rings even snap into place with each other. You can wedge the 7" and the middle ring together but you cannot get them to sit flat enough to play. Even worse is that the outer ring is either so warped, or so improperly cut, that the middle ring slides right through with no connection.

I'm usually very understanding with the shipping process fucking up records slightly but this thing wasn't even pressed to fit properly within itself. I doubt anyone from MD/GJ is going to give a shit about my complaints but I gotta try, this is terrible.

Anyone else experience this with the pressing?

Mine just showed up in Vancouver. The jacket is in ok condition except for the record slots, there are small tears at the edges, the records themselves were a bit loose but relatively in place, but there are still scuffs and what might be a bad scratch on the outer ring. The rings are also super fucking dirty. What bugs me the most is the tolerances of the rings, there's literally a 2mm gap between each one so each ring moves freely, I don't see how this is going to play (I'll find out shortly), really shitty job. Hopefully my order from Vitus is better but I'm not holding my breath.

**ok, gave it a listen:

-noisy as fuck. I'll need to give it a deep clean at some point.

-the wow & flutter is less than I was expecting given how sloppy the rings fit. at least there's no warp!

-I'm glad it doesn't transition between rings, the gap would have snapped the needle, but it basically makes it into listening to three 7"s

-most annoying record to flip ever?

They had it right the first time they released it: this is a record for hanging on your wall, this is not a record for listening. At least it came with the CD?

Hmmm... interesting. When I get mine in, I may experiment with a few things. I wonder if I can 3D print "adaptors" that fit each ring to improve tolerances, and thus the sound.

you might be able to make four or so little wedges to stabilize it, but who knows if these things are even cut in a proper circle.  Negron noted above that one ring doesn't fit in properly at all with theirs so it's very inconsistent.

I got this in today. I put it on the turntable and spun the outer ring and while it did take some extra work to make sure it was centered properly, once I got it tracking with the needle just right I thought it actually sounded pretty good!

Playing through a Project Debut Carbon w/ Ortofon 2M Blue, for reference.

i rekon the only way for that to work would be to create an oversized adapter for the 12" ring and the 10" ring like this -

If the record was clean and free of pops, it would sound great, the recording and mastering sounds good, but at least with mine that was really only evident in the sections loud enough to overpower the background noise and dirt. The quieter parts were very cliche "old timey record effect" sounding.

Just had mine arrive in the UK. The inner rings were visibly loose before I opened it. Both of them had damaged their slots. The middle ring has a visible scuff on it.

Very tempted to go down the Chargeback route.

Not received mine just yet, but this will be exactly the path I'll be taking if it turns up damaged. Ain't no way I'm spending $133 on a new release to receive a damaged/warped/scratched one. I'm praying I'm lucky with this one.
