booms528
What are the chances this is super limited? I really don't want to go out to a store at 9pm on Monday if it's something I can pick up on my way home from work on Tuesday...
darkeyelids
If that is indeed the album (which would be odd but great) i would imagine it would maybe be a variant release/indie exclusive or something
timsimmons
No one really knows how limited (if at all). My gut tells me probably not given the hype. It seems like a lot of effort to put up that map, have the guerrilla marketing for a month, and to have some sort of release time for 2000 copies of a 12" single. mr. sincere
So this is the post-Grammy weirdo identity crisis album? Cool.
timsimmons
Its possible this is just sleeve art meant to look like a full album by a band called The Reflektors and its just a 2 track single. The track list seems like sections of lyrics.
dreamover
it's a 2 song 12". These two songs will probably be on the album so this 12" will get 3 spins. Everyone needs to relax.
thepunkguy
I bet it's the same thing as this.. http://www.discogs.com/Arcade-Fire-The-Suburbs-Month-Of-May/release/2301290 I went crazy trying to get one of these and now they're readily available.. jetsfan4ever80
timsimmons
Yeah, its being reported 2 songs, Reflektor and Reflektor (Instrumental). The track list above are lyrics from the song. museummouth
toomanyrecords
One song and its instrumental? Yeah... if it's more than 5 bucks I'm gonna pass.
timbrh2001
Who's going to wait in line for a 2 song 12"? Not me! Though that posted album art looks pretty great.
stl_ben
One song and its instrumental? Yeah... if it's more than 5 bucks I'm gonna pass. 2 songs, regular & instrumental. And yeah it will most likely be $12ish I would assume.
timsimmons
Kinda hope they do the same thing as the last album and master the whole album for vinyl and CDs and Digital are just from the vinyl master.
dreamover
2 songs, regular & instrumental. And yeah it will most likely be $12ish I would assume. it's supposed to be $9.99. Some stores may or may not be having listening parties of the whole album.
weinerdog
According to here 8500 copies: https://twitter.com/ArcadeFiretube They should have done 9999
bobbydrake33
So let's assume 850 stores worldwide. 10 each. For a band of this caliber. Not bad. Let's say 637.5 stores. 15 each. Or 425 stores. 20 each.
toomanyrecords
8500 copies for a 12 inch single that costs over 10 bucks? Gonna pass. Might go to Amoeba if they have a listening party though.
music_nut
Very interesting. I love the fact that Amoeba is having a listening party. $9.99 would be the right price. Just went to Amoeba's site and found this page: Arcade Fire is releasing a very limited 12" single from their upcoming album, Reflektor (due out October 29 on Merge Records). The "Reflektor" 12" will be available for sale at Amoeba Hollywood, San Francisco and Berkeley on Monday, September 9 at 6pm. Quantities are very limited so it's first come first served, limit one copy per customer and you must be in the store to purchase it.No phone orders, online sales or holds allowed. We'll also be playing the new single at Amoeba on Monday, 9/9 at 6pm so come down to the store for a chance to hear the new track before anyone else. In typical Arcade Fire, mum's the word when it comes to everything about the release and the 12" single. Artwork for the 12" has surfaced online, but we can't confirm yet that this is accurate. To further complicate the mystery, the back cover also features a track listing of 14 songs. But it is reportedly just another trick by the band. We'll all have to wait and see on Monday! 3 stores in Canada and none in NYC is pretty lame. Hopefully they add some places to the map before Monday! toomanyrecords
Just a listening party for the one song and a 10 dollar single? Unless either of the above info changes, I'm probably going to pass. Sad, I was really hyped.
radiatorhums
If it is in fact just Reflektor and an instrumental, I'll save my 10$ and put it toward picking up the LP when it comes out. The cover art is rad, but I have no interest in spending money on an album track and an instrumental I won't listen to more than once. fozzyb
Pass. $10 for 2 songs and having to schlep it all the way down town and deal with crowds won't be worth it for me.
ntslash
Maybe it's a big surprise and it will end up being the full album, only available on special LP about 6 weeks before the real release date. Okay, probably not.
DJ Quik
It's a 12" single, one track on one side and I think instrumental or something on other side Packaging is "interesting"
weinerdog
Doesn't seem like this one should be hard to get. Reckless has it on their site, although it can't be ordered yet. http://www.reckless.com/index.php?keywords=REFLECKTOR&format=&cond=&store=&is_search=true&srch=Search

Okay, probably not. I've been thinking about that possibility. Seems unlikely, but I'm into it. These elaborate marketing campaigns and leaks are getting old. Just give us the music already.
