castaway
seriously lol at people calling this a "bootleg" or "authorized bootleg" or even just the prospect of defending a band's decision to want you to pay a minimum of $100 for their record. castaway
owning a copy is more like a status symbol for people
futures
I wish people would stop slinging any variation of phrasing using the word "bootleg" unless they bought the record from a guy living under a bridge with the jacket made out of a brown paper bag. rooks and thejesseb

I would suggest having a basic concept of vinyl terminology and label procedure/the technicalities of pressing before reading through, but being that you're on a vinyl forum I would say you're going to easily understand things written in here better than most. The author has literally been at the beginning of the "modern" bootleg scene, ie. 1969, but it's been happening since the late 19th century. If anyone is an expert on the topic, it is him. This book can be considered definitive. Y'all should pick it up. somethingvinyl
