thesecrets0308
There we are the end of civilisation as we know it!! because the vinyl versions of these albums sound like crap and i'd prefer to stick with my non-crappy sounding FLAC files? I'm just going to assume you're kidding.
gmoney
I just listened to my copy again last night and it sounds awesome. I bought it in 2008 when it came out. Don't know if it changed since then? Or maybe my ears are awful? But really. Sounds awesome.
timsimmons
Yeah, I spun my For Emma when this thread started and people complained about the original pressing, but mine sounded fantastic on my good setup. Granted I pre-ordered from the label as soon as it was announced, so mine is definitely from that first run.

thesecrets0308
I question these reviews. To some people I'm sure a crackly/noisy record is no big deal and there are probably people that think that's how a record is really supposed to sound. Me? I like a quiet, crackle-free record. Not pointing any fingers but there are people that have commented to say that these new pressings sound just as awful as the old ones. Or maybe it's hit or miss. I don't know. I'd love to own a "great sounding" Bon Iver record, I'm just not convinced that exists.

I haven't listened to S/T in a while though. thesecrets0308
ahigby
I was late to this party but I just ordered both records from Newbury's site. Based on previous comments it sounds like they were marked Sold Out at some point, but they're available now. I guess I'll have to wait and see if they actually get shipped to me... I just got a copy on ebay and was curious as to how many were out there. Cant seem to find this info anywheres. Thanks! ajismetal

GoBlue325
These guys have been ripping people off for a whole with their 30 dollar single LPs and then this. Refuse to support any of their represses.

corey.
Yeaaaah fuck Newbury Comics. They aren't doing anything special or groundbreaking, dunno why they feel like their basic colored vinyl is gold.
