atticus
Brewed an all citra session pale today for the warmer months ahead. Looking forward to it.
catalinacaper
Couldn't resist picking one up when I saw it earlier. If not for the novelty alone. It's a Pale Ale btw.
skadaddy
Brewed an all citra session pale today for the warmer months ahead. Looking forward to it. I brewed a Double IPA Saturday: Amarillo, Citra & Cascade with a 40 minute hop stand. If the wort was any indication, this should be the hop bomb I'm going for. BuzzersonKillwell
Brewer up here does a Pale with Citra and Amarillo and it is really tasty. Great combo.
skadaddy
Brewer up here does a Pale with Citra and Amarillo and it is really tasty. Great combo. That's my hope. All three hops are known for their citrus notes, so combined with the Vermont Ale (Heady Topper) yeast strain I used, it should be citrusy and bitter. I'm going for a Deschutes Fresh Squeezed profile but with a bit more bite.
BuzzersonKillwell
Sounds pretty good. I don't find Heady to drink all that citrusy, though it certainly has some super fruity qualities, especially on the nose. Of all the popular DIPA's from VT I find Heady to be the most fatiguing to drink! I wish it came in 8 oz cans instead.
skadaddy
I've yet to have a Heady Topper since they don't distribute out this way, so I'm pretty curious to how it is going to taste. The description from the yeast was that it had a "slight fruity ester that is amazing with aromatic hops," so I guess we'll see what comes of it. Either way, it made for a fun day. BuzzersonKillwell
When is your beer ready? I can send you a Heady and you can do a side-by-side.
skadaddy
Not until mid-May. I'd be down for the Heady for sure, Beererson Buzzwell. We could make a trade out of it if there is something from California you're interested in but don't get there.
skadaddy
Adding the drip system made a huge difference. It hasn't even been that warm here yet, so I can only imagine what the summer is going to do to these guys. imaxcowboyx

imaxcowboyx
Grapefruit Sculpin Habenero too! Actually we just made an Imperial Grapefruit Radler and I shot for hitting a little less grapefruit than the Sculpin has. it's delicious, but I think it might just be grapefruit juice w/ no beer, haha. BuzzersonKillwell
The UFO Radler is REALLY just juice. It is like alcoholic seltzer. Speaking of juice beer, I picked you up "The Wind" from Lost Nation yesterday. On cask it was so fruity and juicy that I dumped a shot of tequila in it and drank it like a cocktail. I think the bottle has a little more carbonation, I've heard it drinks more beer-y. The Wind is our classic Gose dry hopped with Citra hops and grapefruit. Some of you may have had this beer in the past as a cask beer. Well we liked it so much that we figured out how to bottle it.

mitchard
My buddy just went to RR and scored a few bottles for me. Consecration, Supplication, and a Pliney. Also got me something from The Rare Barrel. I'm so stoked. Can't wait for that mail day.
