Probably. I've seen some terrible packaging jobs by bands.

I just think that, given how high-end they went with this release, that it would follow that they would take the utmost care in shipping the record.  I mean, 180g records, screen printed gatefold, screen printed insert thing, extra sticker....  etc.

It's just annoying that there seems to be a legitimate chance that nobody is held accountable for fucking up somewhere.  Any other business and this would be reprimanding!  But since it's the postal service, it seems they can get away with totally fucking everything up.

Also....  spinning my black remastered copy of "Recitation" right now and i have to say, the vocals on this sound like absolute garbage.  The screamed parts have so much distortion in them.  It sounds unpleasant.  The CD sounds so good too!  Maybe I should have sprung for the original mix vinyl.....   grrrrr

I'll for sure give Faltre a few more listens, but nothing grabbed me first time through.

In other news, thanks to extreme pressure from Adam, I pulled the trigger on Spurv & they arrived today.  Pretty flimsy outer makeshift packaging coming from overseas, but I'm not Gumbo so they arrived in pristine condition.

Came across this band today, Palehorse/Palerider.  Although their Bandcamp uses tags like "Doom", "doomgaze", "shoegaze", alternative" & "psychedelic", there are definitely post-rock/metal elements here.  I think some of you would dig.

Listed to this a bit yesterday and thought it was quite good!  Definitely get some post-metal on that first song.

NICE!!!!  Spurv is so fucking good.  Probably one of the best, in my opinion.  I was actually listening to Blader Som Faller on CD in my car today!  The sound of the drums on that release are so perfect.  I love it.  I wish Skarntyde was on CD too though.

Just wait til you spin those guys, they are both absolutely perfect.

New Watered track.  Pretty dull IMO.

New Waking Aida track.  Real weird.  Has vocals.  I'm undecided on this one.

Another random Bandcamp find that i enjoyed the shit out of.  Post-prog-rock is the  best way to describe it.  Got some 80s metal flair in there and even at times I got vibes from bands like Glaciers & Ocoai amongst others I can't pinpoint.  Kind of all over the place but I really liked every song.

I got both from their Bandcamp page for about $53 shipped.

Totally worth it, right?

Also....  here's something you guys will hopefully enjoy.  I didn't know this existed until talking to a buddy on Facebook:  Set and Setting "2012 Tour EP".  It's 2 long songs, about 28 minutes in total between the 2 of them.  It's more of their post-rock side....  REALLY REALLY good stuff.  It's almost more like them just jamming out and seeing how much of a soaring theme they can come up with.  Each song kind of breaks down into distinct smaller sub-songs.  They removed it from their bandcamp for some reason, but my buddy hooked me up.  You guys gotta hear this stuff.

Track 2, "Trails" is probably the highlight for me because this thing is just soaring, blissful glory.  Not so much boundary breaking, but just very, very satisfying stuff.

No search results... so I bet many of you haven't heard this.  Not sure what the hell to call it, but it does remind me a bit of Callisto in some parts.  Mathy dark post-rock I guess?  This girl I'm friends with on Facebook shared it.  Lotta cool sections in this bad boy.

just discovered these guys and will pick these both up on my next payday. wish that they still had the A Memory Stream Translucent Beer & Bronze w/ Trans & Opaque Red variant in stock tho

second this. having their other releases pressed has to happen!

i bought that memory stream bundle when it came out...i think it was the first thing the board turned me on to.

but i missed the technicolor sleep box when it went up...would still love to have that (anyone?)

Best part of that email.  Second best part was more Caspian pressings, only because I could hear Matt's wallet cringe :)

I really hope they go back to the other cover with the angel and boat on the light colored background.  I'm not at all a fan of the recent vinyl pressing cover.  Also, I had no idea that this album was so hard to come by on vinyl....  pretty sure I got my bronze from them for like $15 or something.

But yes, oh man.  Jakob is coming.  Jakob is coming.
