bermudanc94
How are you guys going about doing this? Just typing in albums you think came out at the time in google or actually looking at all of your stuff physically one by one? I have an excel spreadsheet of all my albums that includes release years. I also have a very good memory about dates, especially those pertaining to album releases or shows I've been to. bermudanc94
i don't have a list of the vinyl or cds that i own. never been that kind of crazy. I wouldn't call it crazy. It's so convenient to have documentation of exactly what you have. And if you add to it as you get in new stuff, it's not a pain/doesn't take much time to update and keep up with. gabpower

Derek™
i don't have a list of the vinyl or cds that i own. never been that kind of crazy. I'd hope that's some subtle sarcasm at work, seeing as 90% of the board appears to have documentation of their collection in some form or another. Like bermuda said, it's actually quite easy (and convenient) to manage them as soon as you order or receive new items. If that's too much of a hassle for you personally, that's perfectly fine. But considering everyone on VC, I think it's "kind of crazy" to not have a catalog.

nothingnatural
I graduated in 2002. Hella - Hold Your Horse Is Stephen Brodsky - Ole Sunday No Knife - Riot for Romance Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf (UK version) Onelinedrawing - Visitor I got Ours - Precious in 2002 but their fucking albums are only on CD. That's what I can gather based on what I have listed on Discogs (which is far from complete). Aside from the No Knife LP, I got all these back when they originally came out. jtcohenour
had to dig deep here- lots of this was bought afterwards because 1990 was a rEally tough year to buy new records on vinyl. but just you wait, the list of albums you just had to buy twice won't be as long when you're comin up on 25 years. Fugazi - Repeater (OG) Janes Addiction - Ritual de lo Habitual Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss Social Distortion - S/T Depeche Mode - Violator (OG) Ned's Atomic Dustbin - Kill Your Television Prong - Beg To Differ Cool albums that year! CaliforniaNoise
2008 I own literally none from that year. Looking at the releases though I'd really only be interested in City & Colour (Bring Me Your Love) and Fleet Foxes. I mean, I like Katy Perry just fine but I feel no need to get One of the Boys on vinyl..
horrorbusiness138
The only record (that I know of at the moment) that came out when I graduated in 2001 was The Lillingtons - Backchannel Broadcast. Thanks Clearview/Redscare!!

DigitalZombie
I'm understanding this as 'albums that were released the year you graduated', not necessarily 'pressed'. I have some that premiered in 1998 but weren't pressed to vinyl until years later. 1998 (when shitty ska and faux swing bands ruled the airwaves. A dark time indeed) • Boris - Amplifier Worship • Meat Beat Manifesto - Actual Sounds + Voices • Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane… • Fugazi - End Hits • Jeff Buckley - Sketches for My Sweeheart the Drunk • Sparklehorse - Good Morning Spider • Queens of the Stone Age - s/t • Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come
