So I unexpectedly got to see these guys in Cincinnati last night. Was in town for the Alice in Chains, which in a totally dick move for a show that listed the only time as 8:00, the opener went on at 7:00 and AIC started at 8:00. Pretty lame as I missed the first song, but overall they put on a good show. Good sound, good set etc. But I realize the show is going to be done by like 8:30 and remembered Manchester O playing Bogarts the same night. I had looked earlier that week so I knew the show as sold out but had nothing to lose, I didn't want to drive back to Columbus and be home before midnight. So I head over to Bogarts. Walk up to the door and ask the security guys where the ticket window is. Went to the ticket window and asked if any tickets got released. Nope. Amazingly, no one is on the street scalping or anything. First time I've ever seen the absence of that. Some guy who was smoking tells us he has one ticket, but there's two of us. About that time one of the security dudes comes over and tells us to come with him. He escorts us right inside, no explanation, no other questions. Show was rad, they blew the roof off the place. I bought Mean Everything to Nothing (2nd copy, my other one is pretty messed up) and a white Simple Math. I had bought Cope locally in Columbus earlier that day. So I hope the band forgives us our freebie show in light of buying up most of the discography in a single day.

Weird occurrence. Reminds me of the time some friends and I went to a mewithoutyou show and one of friends planned to get a show at the door. Too bad, the show was sold out. We ran into Aaron and told him the situation, and he got our straggling friend in. Actually wouldn't mind a mewithoutyou and Manchester Orchestra tour, all of the guys I've met from each band have been some of the nicest folk.

That's really rad. Haha. I'm sure they forgive you.
