zacooper
Just finally got a chance to sit down and spin this while looking at the book and reading through the lyrics. This album is so good, but it's so sad on so many levels with these lyrics I feel like. It's just very melancholy and introspective. But I dig it! omik11303
Got mine in the mail today. Really don't like this record unfortunately. It's way too mellow, and it doesn't have the edge of previous releases. 'Stay Happy There' is the only one that I really enjoy.
Buffbloom
Why do all of Will Yip's productions sound like I'm listening to the record from the other side of a door?

megan
Made a quick lyric sheet for myself if anyone's interested! https://www.dropbox.com/s/bq9mg7uig6js63v/roomsofthehouse.pdf Couldn't quite get it down to one double sided sheet, but if anyone wants to make tweaks I can put up an indd or idml file? fugazi, NoWorthyIcons, ajismetal and 1 other
museummouth
Why do all of Will Yip's productions sound like I'm listening to the record from the other side of a door? Yeah he definitely ruined this album. Just like he did with Floral Green. Hobbes
zacooper
Sadder than the dude who got stabbed by his son over...and over...and over... ?? No, but that's sad in a different way. That album was half personal introspection and half telling the stories of other people's lives and their sadness. This one seems to be a lot more in Jordan's head and more personal, just the whole concept of the rooms of the house and the memories and the thoughts back on them. Maybe I'm way off here, I don't know.

I didn't know Yip did this album but that makes sense with For Mayor In Splitsville sounding awfully Yipcore/soft grunge. Haven't heard the rest of the album yet though. seamoney

FEN1XD0WN
Got this in the mail today. So disappointed theres no lyrcs at all. As someone said earlier, with this band being as invested in their words as they are, its really weird that they would leave them out. I know there was that book that has all the lyrics but still. Hmph.
Juturna90
I agree that it's weird and a bummer that lyrics weren't included. All things set aside tho the yesterday's home book is really cool and was definitely worth the investment. I hope they do another documentary and post card package like conversations for this album. jamescandeletta

Juturna90
Yeah definitely. I just ordered the record assuming they did and then was reading the description of the book containing lyrics and photos and what not and just assumed from that they were probably going that route with them and ordered on a spur of the moment just in case. Daiei
Got the bundle only for the limited blue swirl variant, selling everything else that came with it. PM offers. As far as the album goes, eh...not really blown away as of first listen. Wildlife had me completely blown away, told all of my friends about the album. This is just okay. soundofsulfur
Anyone counted the number of times he says "I Will"? Overall the album is okay. I feel like a lot of songs are attempts of recreating 'King Park'. Maybe after I listen some more the album will distinguish itself from Wildlife. seamoney
I think all of the heavier songs on the album are better than any of the songs on Wildlife. Every song is great though. After these few days I like it more than Wildlife.
gmoney
Saw these guys last night. I am not familiar with anything except the stream of the new album - which I listened to a handful of times. They played a lot from the new album. Both 'Woman' songs which was nice. Crowd was very into everything but the new album, which has to suck touring behind a new album which technically hasn't been released yet.
