SRCVinyl - Juliana Theory Love 2XLP

Recommended Posts

Anyone else see Brett saying on twitter the band had no say in this and were just told that it was happening?

His tweet:

TJT's "love" has just been re-issued & remastered on vinyl for the 1st time. Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger. http://www.shopradiocast.com/products/The-Juliana-Theory-%252d-Love-2XLP.html

edit: so both brett and the tjt account have tweeted purchase links. i think they're okay with you buying it.

After seeing the work he put into his solo LP and the work he is doing on his new LP, they could have made it something really cool. But instead it's just a gatefold with one insert.

just a gatefold with an insert? what else do you want? it's remastered from the original tapes. i think it has everything a reissue should have. i don't need diecut metal covers or anything.

I know that is how it goes, but it just bums me out that they got to have no input in this. If I ever get this it will be down the road when the price is slashed or someone on here is trading it below value.

How much more do you expect?  It's 180g 2xLP Gatefold and remastered....  The price is the only thing wrong with this release.

Guys, I hate SRC as much as everyone else... and although i don't think a single LP should be over $13 or a double over $22... you'd think they're asking for $50 for this thing. It's a major label record... one that independent labels never would've been able to afford licensing for and they're doing everything I would've done as a label. (thick gatefold jacket, 180 gram, remastered from original tapes, etc).

if this was a brand new record from some pop-punk band, i'd understand your pain... but this album had a very small chance of ever getting released. if you're frustrated because you "have" to buy it to complete a collection or whatever... think about how ridiculous that sounds.

if you'd rather have a shitty-sounding hot topic splatter in a thin jacket, sourced from the cd with typos to save $3... i really don't get it.

If you have seen Brett's solo album, you know the stuff they could have done. For 28 bucks they could have done a lot more. It would have been cool to see them replicate the booklet with the artwork being different on every page on the insert.

"brett detar @brettdetar Jan 15

@jphever well we had no say in the matter. haha. told for the most part. :)

I cant figure out how to make tweets show up here right so I just copied and pasted.

Yeah I hate having to pay more for stuff. At least src have had a good track record of releasing pretty high quality products. So as a fan of the album I know it's going to be a case of high payment means high quality product.

Unlike the more recent Brand New The Devil... repress it was high price for high quality sounding music and a super cheap poorly done sleeve. Or the very bad Finch repress Hot Topic had as an exclusive (pixelated artwork/messed up center labels).

I mean I would have definitely bought it for cheaper if there had been an option (The Format's recent I&L is a great example of how to have some different options at more affordable prices). Since that's not the case I'll pay the price and be happy it is finally getting pressed.

I bought this cd when it came out, Listened to it once and hated it.

Took it back two weeks later and exchanged it for the ugly organ.

I still rate it as one of the better decisions  I've made in my life.

However, I did, give this another go about 4 years later and I really got into it. Never thought this would ever get pressed though; it will end up at mega bargain price down the track and I'll buy it then.
