DJ Quik
Just moved. Needed a new set up and decided to go with a modified high gloss gray Expedit and a Dioder LED set from IKEA. I know the TT and the speakers should not be on the same stand, but living in an apartment I have limits on the volume levels. I have not noticed any impacts to the sound so far. I heard that weeknd bootleg at a local record store, sounded like absolute shit, so much surface noise, yours also have that?

Interesting, the copy they played seriously sounded like it terrible radio transmission, worst pressing I ever heard I have the white vinyl version coming from vinyl-digital in a couple weeks (if it ships on time) , keeping fingers crossed

dudefromglaciers
thanks for the info on the speakers. i'm going to bid on a pair. you pretty happy with yours? I can tell by your equipment you don't fuck around. nice to see someone who has made an investment in good sound. for those of you interested in a good receiver - that marantz is the gold standard, almost impossible to find a deal on nowadays, but worth the money. albie007
^i have that projector screen....off amazon. One of my better purchases. The price for it really jumped around on it though so be careful. I saw it as high as 300 and I finally got it for like 85-90 shipped after a few weeks of watching. This was like 3+ yrs ago. Youinreverse
Is there a way to dim them a bit? I think it's a neat idea, but the lights seem a little too bright.
steviex2shoes
They are from Ikea. Dioder: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50192365/ You can also try these Led's out: http://www.amazon.com/LEDwholesalers-Controller-2034RGB-3315-3215/dp/B0040FJ27S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378139115&sr=8-1&keywords=led+strip Cheaper in terms of how long of a strip you get. I've got these on the back of my TV and just had to get some corner connectors since you can cut these strips. Comes with a remote, and you are able to dim
danementzer
Went out today to build this: http://ana-white.com/2013/03/jacobean-6-cube-bookshelf-our-nursery Supplies alone had me at $200...took everything back and bought this: http://www.target.com/p/threshold-6-cube-horizontal-organizer-espresso/-/A-14161912#prodSlot=medium_1_25 It was the same price as the expedit when I factored in shipping. Plus, it was built to lay horizontal, so the weight it applied to the shelves appropriately (expedit when vertical distributes weight, but when horizontal all the weight is on the tiny dowel rods). We'll see how it goes.
xhotandfatx
Here is my unit as of today. I will be purchasing another 4x4 as well as a 2x4 within the next month. I realize that my tt, receiver, speaker set up is completely wrong at the moment. I used to use a Crosley as my main tt, so these are a step up for sure. I'm using the Hitachi HT-40S TT and JVC RX-558V receiver currently until i get a preamp for my Marantz 6150 on the left speaker. I'll post an updated pic when I get the new units. Also, I need a large cd unit. Can someone suggest one that could hold up to 2000 easily? I haven't found anything that I like as of yet. Thanks. bluessinger
