I have released the demo tape of Macaulay Culkin's new band The Pizza Underground. http://bittermelodyrecords.limitedrun.com The band features Matt Colbourn on guitar, Phoebe Kreutz on glockenspiel, Deenah Vollmer on pizza box and Austin Kilham on tambourine, plus Culkin doing some percussion and kazoo. The Pizza Underground is a parody rock band from NY. Boasting members that have all been a staple in the NY anti-folk scene for a long while and Mack have formed this band parodying Velvet Underground songs and making them about pizza. The band will have a tour color on CHEESY YELLOW cassette shells while we have our limited label color on PIZZA SAUCE RED cassette shells. Each tape will come with a download card for a high quality download of the DEMO. WE HAVE RED CASSETTES AND A HANDFUL OF THE YELLOW TOUR YELLOW CASSETTES. The demo was recorded "live at Macaulay Culkin's house on November 11, 2013". According to The Guardian, the band formed in early 2012 and recently played a Lou Reed tribute at New York's Sidewalk Cafe. Other members include Matt Colbourn, Phoebe Kreutz, Deenah Vollmer, and Austin Kilham. The buzz around them has been growing and they are about to head out on a nationwide tour. BUT for my VINYL COLLECTIVE family, I have added an option on page 5 of my store for a free tape with a purchase of 9.99 or more, so if you buy this tape add the free tape to your order and you'll get two tapes. You'll get one of my other tapes that I have released. If you really want one in particular, list it in the comments and I'll see what I can do. They just started selling them last night and sold a good bit. They may or may not have any left by the Raleigh date. I'll be at that show as well. I did the layout on the tapes from their photographs and drew the little pizzas and pizza cutter on the tape. Pretty pumped about how they came out. You may get the Sundale or Manalive or Manthechage or something of the like. The Sundale tape is killer though and slid under the radar due to their semi-limited touring. You might find a hidden gem. xgrantx Posted January 25, 2014 Author Share Posted January 25, 2014 It's a medley of like 10 songs or so. It's fairly short though. Like 16-17 minutes. Same music on both sides of the tape. I loved Macaulay Culkin in Party Monster, and if anything this will be sure to piss off my girlfriend who worships that Velvet Underground and Nico album. I copped the Pizza thing and Brick Mower, along with da FREE TAPE. I'm not familiar with a lot of these bands besides, like.. The Banner.. so just please send me your absolute favorite tape out of all you have in stock that I didn't just order. I ordered with my username at hotmail. Or not, anything's fine.Thanks man. I'm gonna guess you won't get the Pizza Underground tape considering the free tape deal applies to tapes that have been sitting around for a while of which he's trying to get rid. It will more than likely be something I released on tape in the last year or two. I mainly did the free tape for you guys here since I'm having to charge a little more for this tape.
